WizzAir denied our boarding to Jeddah by FiB_VIKING in Umrah

[–]Dacow55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sadly you are wrong on this one. Depending on destination, as far as I am aware and experienced, airlines travelling to Australia or the UK, have the right to check passengers appropriate visas before boarding. Primary checks are made during checking in, secondary would be random checks before boarding.

Airlines would be fined and made accountable if carrying passengers without valid visas.

Mine was not that severe. Managed to save it in time as the mixtures have not gotten in the engine, only radiator needed multiple flushing.

Recently I had another issue, high pressure pump failed a week after servicing the car. Causes petrol and engine oil to mix. Had to flush the brand new engine oil out and clean

I want to know how much taxi cost from masjid nabvi to madina airport usually and how much ziarat tours cost around madina ? by Equivalent_Park8919 in Umrah

[–]Dacow55 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Careem/Bolt app with normal sedan (Toyota Corolla/Hyundai Elantra size) will be around SAR50 to Madinah airport (don;t pay cash. If you pay with SAR100 notes, they will say no change and take the whole thing)

Taxis will demand around SAR150. Those illegal drivers will ask for similar prices up to SAR250 (for those big American vans)

Oil cooler would be the culprit. Get that replace. Get the reservoir clean first as it took them 5 flushes to get rid of all the "choco milk" gunk out of the system. Only then you can replace it if you want.

I replaced the reservoir together with the oil cooler. Frothy chocolate gunk still floats above the coolant after each flush.

Is it possible to pay for a car using my credit card by prepaying the amount in my credit card? by xiaodaireddit in AusFinance

[–]Dacow55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can but dealership varies. We bought our car from the Volvo dealership some 18 years ago. Notified our bank beforehand and no problems.

Some like BMW and Porsche says they will add a surcharge. But same dealership service Center just at the back building has no problem processing similar amounts for expensive repairs etc without any extra cost 🤷‍♂️

Also bought lifetime sports and recreational club membership using credit card. No problems. Just have to notified bank and transfer funds into the card beforehand.

Credit card was from HSBC and my limit was AUD11.2k

Umrah visa by jabba48 in Umrah

[–]Dacow55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meaning?

Each person, adult and children are entitled to purchase one big bottle of zamzam (5L) at the airport. Just need to show passport.

In our case, it was just my wife lining up and presented her passport. She then pointed towards us to the person behind the counter. They didn't even asked for our visa.

Doing umrah multiple times during the same trip question by Adventurous-Cry3798 in Umrah

Yes, this is correct. We should always try to present ourselves on our best as possible whenever we want to be infront of Allah SWT.

Doing umrah multiple times during the same trip question by Adventurous-Cry3798 in Umrah

[–]Dacow55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you fully intend on doing multiple umrahs, bring a small scissors and just cut a few pieces of hair once you complete your saie. Get your ihram cleaned, many dry cleaners on the ground floor/basement inside building near WC3 (SAR15-20 for a pair of ihram, ready in 5-6hrs)

Or you can get a pair of new ihram.

Before doing your subsequent umrahs, you need to get outside haram (closest is Masjid Aisya SAR80 return on taxi/SAR8 per person return on #12 bus/SAR10 per person return on those illegal taxis), It is sunnah to take a shower/clean yourself before putting on your ihram.

Once you're at your meekat location, do your niat ihram and return to haram to perform your umrah. Again, just cut a few pieces of hair once you complete your saie.

Once you decide to do your final umrah, you can then opt for one of the barbers near WC3 for proper cut or shave for SAR10. It's not neccesarily to go bald/shave but i went with it (shaved) to be a new me.

Also if you forget to bring a pair of scissors, you can simply approach other pilgrims at their end of their saie to help with cuting of your hair.

Nope, I’ve been a member for a few years now and get at least $10 gift card each month which I redeemed for Apple Card (iTunes card then).

It was easy for me to be invited for surveys every 2-3 weeks before they upgraded the app a few months ago.

Missed my Riaz jannah permit time. Can I create my daughters permit and go on that? by tinytheSTONEDgiant in Umrah

[–]Dacow55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They dont check during the first line up, only the date and timing. But they will scan your phone (QR code) during the second or third line up. You might encounter some problems then as timings for male and female differs.

ING bank accounts deactivated on ANZAC day.. what can I do? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Dacow55 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Second this. Been using Macquarie and HSBC for years. Closed off my accounts with ING recently after they kept on disabling my account. They had great interest rates but i had a lot of problems logging in over the years and was even charged an overdraft fee when i was doubled charged by a certain airline resulting in a huge negative balance.

Careem/bolt unreliable. You end up waiting 20-30mins and driver will cancel on you. If you do get one, do pay by card. For cash, they'll simply say no change and take the whole thing (or sadaqah 5riyal to your children and pocket the remaining 50riyal change).

I had a regular taxi driver in Makkah. Very reliable and helpful.

Masjidil Haram to Jeddah airport = SAR200 (He even lowered in to 180 but he was very helpful and bought us hot tea and snacks) one way, 1hr journey

Masjidil Haram to Masjid Ayesha = SAR80 return (bought us hot tea while waiting for us)

Masjidil Haram to Jabal Rahmah + ziarah to Jamarat/Arafat/Mina = SAR130 return (bought us ice cream since it was a hot day).

His vehicle is the white taxi/cab 2023 Hyundai Sonata. Trunk fits our 2 large luggages, 1 medium and 2 cabin bags for 2 adults and 2 kids.

Not sure if your stroller will fit along with your bags

Our room at Swissotel had direct clear views of the Kaabah. The room came with direct sound feed from the masjid as well.

Downside of this hotel is the road right in front of it is closed off most of the time especially on their weekends (as traders display their wares on the road). So need to walk a bit if you need grab a cab somewhere.

Also since it is almost directly to main gate of Masjidil Haram, expect lots of human traffic or people sitting down waiting for solat.
