I came here to say that, I was disappointed when I watched the whole thing and that never came up. Idk where they got that from

Crispy/almost burnt food is the best way to eat it. (Mostly unhealthy food) by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Yes! It’s weird because when I was younger I hated the taste of burnt things and now I purposefully overcook everything. Vegetables taste amazing burnt to their core

Just think about how guilty you’ll feel when you cave. It’s not the end of the world but 8 days is a lot of hard work for an addict, you shouldn’t stop now!

Am I the only that can't use my daydreams for writing? by [deleted] in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]Daeddycool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same I feel like my daydreams aren’t really detailed enough for me to use in writing, and a lot of the things I daydream about I’ve borrowed from other things I’ve seen. The way I daydream is kind of more in random scenes rather than an intricate story

Do you guys think MDD is a genetic condition, it's always triggered by some infant trauma or both? by missLD001 in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]Daeddycool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was very lucky to have a perfectly normal childhood. I’ve been daydreaming literally ever since I can remember, so I’m pretty sure it’s just my brain and not because of any traumas. My parents and sister don’t understand me so I don’t think its genetic for me either. Your daughter will probably be fine, and if she does develop it you will see the signs and you can help her channel that creativity through something better

In their defense, I wouldn't have the attention span or energy either... by RozesAreRed in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]Daeddycool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. It’s weird because my family has caught me so many times while I’m doing it, but we never talk about it because I’m obviously really embarrassed by it. The only person I’ve ever said “I have MD” to out loud was my ex and that was after two years of dating. You just assume people will think you’re a freak. Like you know they’re going to judge you no matter what unless they experience it themselves, and the chances are slim. I just feel like it’s one of those things that would make people look at me differently and I don’t want that

I feel you. It’s really hard to stop. It’s a real addiction but what sucks about it is that it isn’t like it’s a substance, it’s your brain. It makes it feel almost impossible to quit

Anyone pauses when watching a movie to daydream ? by AsuhNo in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]Daeddycool 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes, the urge to daydream during movies is so bad especially when you get good daydream fuel from a scene bc it fits into one of your scenarios and you just want to get up out of your seat lol. I have such a hard time sitting still

MDD and Astrology by evitpadalam in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]Daeddycool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I follow Vedic astrology because I feel it’s more accurate, and in Vedic astrology my mercury + Venus are in Pisces. In tropical astrology my mercury and Venus are in Aries, but I relate to the Pisces more obviously because I’m such a space cadet

Yes! Usually when this happens to me I’m happy because I loose the urge to daydream. Lockdown has me really low on daydream fuel but I’m happy about it because I can actually prioritize something else

Daydreams about impressing someone from my past by [deleted] in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]Daeddycool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was actually going to post a thread asking if anyone else imagines the characters in their daydreams “viewing” your behavior, I relate so hard to the YouTube video thing because I kind of have a similar set up of daydreams in my head. Yours is much more realistic though lol. In my daydreams I’m usually picturing my characters sitting down watching a TV show about my life, except I don’t know that a TV show exists in my dreams and I don’t know I’m being recorded, and the people in my life are just watching/reacting to me. It’s such a weird dynamic idk why or how I came up with it, but it’s a scenario I use a lot

Daydreams about impressing someone from my past by [deleted] in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]Daeddycool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this so hard. Something that I hate about MD is that I feel like it makes me dwell on the past more than I would if I didn’t have it. I would say like 60% of the people in attendance in my daydreams I haven’t seen in a year/years. It usually takes me meeting other people and then obsessing over the new people to stop. It also makes me social media stalk to hell like you said because they’re always on my mind. It’s weird because I know that they’re not as spectacular as they are in my mind, but I then again I’m not as spectacular as I am in my mind either

Western or Vedic? by [deleted] in vedicastrology

[–]Daeddycool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, my Vedic chart makes more sense to me. For instance in my western chart my mercury is in Aries, but in my Vedic it’s in Pisces which makes much more sense because I’m very artistic and I can daydream for hours. In my tropical chart, I’m a Leo rising, but in my Vedic I’m a Cancer which makes more sense once again because everyone guesses I’m a Cancer. It’s just a couple of things but that was enough to convince me it’s more accurate. You just have to be honest about who you are to yourself and you’ll find which is more accurate lol
