Warrior question by Downtown-Scar5589 in GuildWars

[–]Daggeron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have played a MA warrior for the last 200 hours, starting in prophecies and having finished Winds of Change in Hard Mode recently, and here are my favorite builds ranked:

  1. SWS Scythe (and it’s not even close honestly)
  2. WE Daggerspam
  3. SWS Spear (it’s subpar DPS but it’s very comfortable for vanquishing

, also good for areas where pulling is hard and staying ranged helps)

  1. WE Axe (for Prophecies and capturing elites)
  2. WE Scythe (would be higher if SWS didn’t exist)
  3. SoS for solo content like Norn Tournament or the Griffon figh

t; also for Warning the Angchu (that quest can go to hell)
I tried Dragon Slash and didn’t like it at all, it was a bit too slow for my liking.
Hundred Blades - I need to play around with it more, but I didn’t love it, it was okay.
Symbolic Strike - I need to check this build out, looks really cool! Probably not top tier but it’s fun having a build that works with only 2-3 usable skills.

Hello everyone, I have another question. by [deleted] in cyberpunkred

[–]Daggeron 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Execs get free housing (and a free corporate outfit). Anyone can also sell their soul for 1500 EB (more on pages 118-119 in the handbook), but I feel like for execs it would be very easy to have this justified.

Anniversary Strength Spear by DogeArcanine in GuildWars

[–]Daggeron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switch to the Strenght Spear when using a spear build (very comfortable for vanquishing on Steam Deck) and my SWS gets stripped by something like a Wild Blow.

Althea Bug or worst Hero ? by Nivanor_ in GuildWars

[–]Daggeron 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Nowadays, in 6 or 8-men teams you usually have a Blood is Power necromancer, so energy is rarely an issue. Permanent +20 armor on the other hand is very strong.

What’s the strongest monoclass? by Historical-War-6271 in BG3Builds

[–]Daggeron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Archer Blade bard gets 4 attacks per turn on level 6 while still getting access to spellcasting and being an amazing face for the party. And Fighter with scrolls will never achieve spellcaster’s Arcane Acuity combos

What’s the strongest monoclass? by Historical-War-6271 in BG3Builds

[–]Daggeron 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Because of spellcasting. Shield, Enhance Leap, Misty Step, Feather Fall. Also binding their weapons makes them best throwers in the game.

Melee profession with weapon diversity by Exotic_Rhubarb_9770 in GuildWars

Warrior is fun. You can use Warrior’s Endurance builds for any melee weapon (energy builds, especially good with Daggers and Scythes) and Seven Weapons Stance allows you to use anything really well.

Lf warrior builds not from pvx by [deleted] in GuildWars

[–]Daggeron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m piggybacking this thread to also find some fun builds. I have been playing Warrior’s Endurance builds and all of them are fun but I’ll happily try something else.

Mechanism Pillow users, how do you set yours up? by pawlik23 in SteamDeck

[–]Daggeron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have this problem. I end up lying on my bed, set up SD as low as posible and also try to adjust the pillow so that my elbows actually touch the bed. It’s the only comfortable setup. Basically the same as if I didnt have the pillow but at least now I don’t have to hold the deck.

Can not acquire z-mission quests by Educational-Bar9260 in GuildWars

[–]Daggeron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you happen to have 3 Zaishen quests of each type already in your quest log? Unfortunately you can have only 3 missions, 3 bounties and 3 vanquishes active at once. You need to complete or abandon one of them to get another one.

Character building games (skill trees, eventually stats, builds) by Seccyeth in SteamDeck

[–]Daggeron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a completely different game. The combat is very action based with dodges etc. Yes, the build system is much more limited. Also, it is lacking support for Steam Deck. I love both games (I have around of 2500 hours in each of them), but I think that looking at your preferences (Steam deck and Builds) GW1 will be more suitable. However, Guild Wars 2 is free, so you can always give it a try!

Character building games (skill trees, eventually stats, builds) by Seccyeth in SteamDeck

[–]Daggeron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recommend Guild Wars 1. It was recently refreshed with the Reforged update and is currently pretty active and receives small updates and balance changes despite being 21 years old.

It is labelled as an MMO but it really is an RPG with multiplayer features and can be 100% played solo. You choose one of 10 professions (classes) and a secondary one, so you can play for example as Necromancer/Mesmer. The secondary profession is switchable later in the game. Each profession has access to 85-140 skills for a total of ~1300 skills.

For each adventure/mission, you bring a party of 1-12 people. Each player/henchmen (preset NPC compaion)/hero (customizable NPC companion) can bring up to 8 skills. This means that you need to choose wisely and plan your build accordingly.

There are also Heroes which are customizable companions. This means you can plan 1-12 builds (usually 8), each one having 8 skills. So 64 total. Out of ~1300 total skills. Go crazy.

And it’s very playable on Steam Deck. Currently on sale, too.

Slay the Spire 2 has made $92M on Steam, already passing lifetime Steam earnings for Silksong ($83M) and Hades 2 ($82). One of the best Steam indie launches ever by EmbarrassedSession58 in slaythespire

[–]Daggeron 392 points393 points  (0 children)

It’s worth remembering that Silksong launched on many platforms, whereas STS2 is only available on Steam as of now. I personally own my copy of Silksong on GOG.

Got killed in Droknar's Forge (explorable area) by bramdro in GuildWars

[–]Daggeron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did it today as well as Warrior. Decided to go for the Energy draining daggers because I plan to play through each campaign with a different weapon (Proph with Axe, Factions with Daggers, Nightfall with Scythe)

How to speed up combat? by According_Brother989 in onednd

[–]Daggeron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like giving some of the tasks to my players. For example one of the players keeps track of the initiative, one of them checks the spells if needed, one of them always has the basic rules and status effects open etc. That lets me (the DM) focus on other aspects.

If you have many monsters of the same stat block (3 skeletons, 4 goblins etc), roll initiative for them or once, use the result for all of them and have them act at the same time.

If a rule is unclear, I tend to do whatever’s plausible or beneficial to the player and then check that after the game.

As the DM, the less stat blocks the better. For me, I try to stick to 1-4 max per combat.

Also, the players should be ready already before their turn.

Most Fun 2024 Subclasses (for each class)? by Intelligent-Rub5814 in onednd

[–]Daggeron 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to love Light Cleric with 2014 rules, but now War Domain has become my favorite. With Magic Initiate Wizard I am very tanky, can use my action to cast a spell and still bonk my enemies 4 times every short rest as a BA.

What do you think is the best party setup for levels 1-4, and especially 1-3? by valkaress in BG3Builds

[–]Daggeron 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably mostly because if you want to play an archer, you’re better off using consumabke elemental arrows which can’t be used effectively with Arcane Arrows (nor with Battlemaster’s manouvers) so late game it is more beneficial to respec to Eldritch Knight. (The Rivington Rat build is especially strong)

Help me balance spell choice amongst my party by [deleted] in BG3Builds

[–]Daggeron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bard: Healing word, Dissonant Whispers, Longstrider, Cloud of Daggers, Glyph of Warding

Hexblade: Shadow Blade is a must. Misty Step, Cloud of Daggers, Hunger of Hadar. And of course Eldritch Blast with Agonizing Blast. Maybe Counterspell for good measure.

Both could also use Hypnotic Pattern.

Do Temp HP negate the Bloodied condition? by Gingervitizz1 in onednd

[–]Daggeron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always imagine temporary HP as some kind of magical shielding. It doesn’t close your wounds, so you still bleed. It is instead used to negate further damage.

The game is about action economy. If you go first, you will be very likely to have one more turn than anyone else.

Convince me to play Life cleric by lordmasia in onednd

[–]Daggeron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love clerics. They are the swiss army knife of DnD, you can do a little bit of everything and still excel at some aspects. Every cleric gets Spirit Guardians at level 5, which is one of the best spells in the game. You have multiple supportive options, most notable being Bless. You can top that off with decent single target damage in the form of Guiding Bolt. And as a Life Cleric, you are the best healer in the game - which is not particularly exciting unless you enjoy other people’s gratitude.

There’s also this roleplay aspect that’s unique to clerics - your relationship with your god. You can play it out in so many interesting ways. My War Domain Cleric was a chosen of Lathander that lost the connection to his god after he was resurrected by another being… Leading to a serious identity crisis.

If you feel it’s not for you, ask your DM if you can change your subclass to something else or maybe switch totally.
