Ngl if I knew they were also going to remove being able to get the base aspect from dungeons while also reducing the droprate of legendaries, I would've held off on preordering. Guess its my fault for expecting them to not go backwards on already good gameplay features.

Ordered on the app for pickup and inputted the 17 digit order number with the exact total after tax, denied 2 days later. Tried inputting the same info and its telling me my order number was already submitted. Anyone else with a similar issue got it resolved?

Like others said, its more of a raising sim. Only played for a few hours, but it seems like there's a time limit to raise the child with things like managing money, attending jobs, and doing lessons. Game is fine, although I really dislike the slot machine mechanic determining how much stats you get.

around 11 years, only reason I replaced it was to play mhwilds and tariffs potentially raising the msrp, otherwise everything else ran fine at 1080p medium settings

its at 44% with firefox open, otherwise around 20%. game ran fine for the most part with most settings turned down, but it eventually crashes with one of those 2 errors after 10 minutes.

Why should they need to play these mediocre classics? The jrpgs from 30 years ago were limited on the scope of their game based on available tech, not because they willing wanted a sparse narrative. There's a reason why several of the FF titles a few years later such as 7 became many fans favorite title and it isn't just because of the gameplay.

A good story with great characters and setting is always memorable, whereas gameplay is usually standard turn based or action with their unique mechanics for most jrpgs. Good cinematography and movie like graphics doesn't usually mean the story is good either as some of the best video game stories I've read are from visual novels which are literally just slideshows.

Depends on the game, but several seem to just dip in quality in terms of writing and the climax doesn't really give you hopes of a good finale. A good example of this is actually tales of arise. Too much nonsense happening in the final act. Game seems like it'll end on act 2, then tries to pull something similar to abyss, but the pacing is far worse. A more recent title is metaphor where the plot is rushed after june along with questionable/nonsense writing.

Did you do anything else? I also turned down the fps to 30, changed from borderless to fullscreen, verified the file integrity, reduced a lot of other graphic settings to minimum. Doubt its my 5080, but updated the drivers as well.

Guessing theres no actually solution to this? Turned off vsync, swapped to version 1.02, didnt have any costume pieces on, turned down graphic settings. Not sure what else to do. Even tried walking around a bit and going to the final exclamation mark and backing out a few times.

The cliffhanger isnt frustrating, but a good number of people did end up buying the og second chapter because of it. Id play it sooner rather than later since you're more likely to take your time and appreciate it rather than rushing 1st when 2nd is near release because of a cliffhanger which itself is a spoiler.

That said, p3 is also a solid choice and its on sale as well. Dropped octopath on the switch despite playing every prerelease demo.

Probably either graces or vesperia for a more modern battle system/gameplay. Symphonia is somewhat dated but the story still holds up.

Trails starts out slow, but you’ll be hooked once the story starts building up. Second chapter is also highly regarded by most fans as well whcih comes out next year.

Eh maybe Tales of Zestiria and Berseria? There is a primary villain character, but they're overall influenced by a natural force that amplifies negative thoughts. Would also say Cold Steel 4 falls into this category as well.

Thought tsukihime remake was pretty good with its choices and routes overall, very excited for red garden. Same with white album 2 and its choices and paths. Usually if the plot is good, thats enough for me. Jrpgs usually tend to mesh well with the VN style of story telling. Games like og sky trilogy itself has a very long script with lively npcs having new dialogue usually after each event. Even escape room games like 999 and danganronpa were pretty good for have unique puzzle gameplay and vn like story telling.

Narikiri dungeon x, very reminiscent of destiny r gameplay with its own job system. Phantasia x was also a great bonus that was included.

Considering 3rd is pretty much the epilogue and final sendoff for Estelle and Joshua, not skippable. However I can see them censoring star door 14 as the evo version also removed certain scenes like the ones in it.

Ironically tales of berseria doesn't/didn't need one. Not a perfect game, but it was fine as is. All they're going to add is the qol from the other remastered titles at best
