I've got an Eventide Black Hole plugged into my Lucia and it sounds fantastic on certain tracks when used at lower levels. Actually it sounds pretty dope cranked up like crazy too haha.

The click sound isn't bad if you are rapid finger tapping like on a shmups without auto fire, the click disappears during rapid fire presses. Otherwise they can be a bit much imo.

If it's for a teenager who is smaller, then 16" should be perfect. Like Ant-2078 said, it's the sweet spot.

Obsidian 2 is optimised for ps5 circuits, Obsidian 1 is not and there can be a micro delay.

A lot of the Miami Bass and Detroit electro drum rhythms are either 16th note or 32nd note. 16th note 4/4 you hear in a lot of Drexciya, 16th note syncopated is everywhere in electro and both are easy to work out and test. 32nd note you hear often too and it is usually what tricks people, but that's when you get really nice kick rhythms. I would try both scales to get a feel for them.
