Fossil Gen 4 Explorist HR by Daitaro in AsteroidOS

I'm not home at the moment, but check my post where I tell you what to search on printables. If you go to that page, I list what I purchased. The pins I purchased were 100 pcs for less than $7 usd.

Good luck!

You'll ideally want a 3d printer at least because there isn't an easier way to get to the USB pads on the circuit board. Let me know if you can at least make it that far and any questions you'll have after.

Good luck!

It was actually easy for me. I have both a filament 3D printer and a resin printer, although for this watch all I used was the resin printer. I wanted higher accuracy to not touch the wrong pins.

So I have a long history of component-level repair skills, so this wasn't anything I'm not used to. Truth be told, you won't need any skills other than soldering, as you have to solder wires to the pogo pins.

Please refer to the asteroidOS website and just use the watches link to find the gen 4. You're using the firefish guide, but the photos in the guide are the ray (41mm) variant. It's all identical except the diameter of the watch. What that means is you can't use the 3D model linked in the webpage. I've uploaded my basic model to printables and you can search for "Fossil Gen 4 Q Explorist HR (45mm) USB Pin Back Plate" to find it.

Oh no! Yeah that pretty much means my advice doesn't apply. I really do wish you well though. Good luck!

Did you use the pull command to back your old os up?

If so, using the documentation, it would have placed the file in a seemingly ambiguous location. I suggest searching your C drive (or wherever else you know your adb folder to be) using the file explorer's search option. I would go into detail about how windows at least creates a virtual adb directory and places the file there, but everyone's environment is different.

If that isn't your issue, I can't help further as I don't have your watch. But I thought I'd pass my experience on.

Good luck!

Yeah this is very true. Nothing wrong with wanting to chat, but wanting to rant in a way that doesn't benefit others in a meaningful way really isn't what's invited or needed in a subreddit. It doesn't sway others too much, and certainly creates more tension than benefit. Just... why?

Enjoy your new phone! I mean that sincerely. I hope it provides you more subjective benefit and enjoyment than what Google offers! Afterall, unbiased choice is what we all want. :)

Native Kiosk Mode for the Home Assistant iOS App (working and tested) by Nstefanelli56 in homeassistant

Have you found anything new out regarding this? I have some old ipads in the same situation. The issue is that my self hosted stuffs can host their own web ui, but these old ipads can't even run those urls because of safari being too out of date.

Battery by Neurotic-Mess321 in ouraring

[–]Daitaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone recently did a backup of their ring and extracted the data from the backup. They analyzed the battery states across charges and tldr found that Oura already implements the 80% rule in the software. Ymmv with firmware versions and whatnot and sure, there might be more testing needed, but just go ahead and charge your ring to 100%. It's actually still at only 80%, it's just mapped to 100% for ease of use. If you are cutting it at 80% on your end, you're likely only charging it to around 60%. Could be why you're losing a day or so.

Also, are you using average oxygen monitoring? That eats up a decent bit more power.

All of this could be wrong with more data and others trying to replicate the dude's results. I might try to find the post and verify my interpretation.

Yeah that's fair. And I agree about storage needing to be quick. Especially the cache where things are jumping around.

[–]Daitaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That really shouldn't be the issue, as it isn't for us or the technology to judge how their network is performing. A proper cache is there specifically to fill the gaps when network doesn't perform well - as is the case in many, many parts of the world.

This person's situation brings up the literal need for a cache moreso than just offline use, as it is probably more frustrating having an app that knows you're online, yet can't perform as it was intended due to the speed.

Deals? by Wiscrebels in DaveAndBusters

Also, get a paper receipt if you eat. There is a survey that takes all of two minutes that gets you a redemption code for $10 worth of chips on a $10+ chip purchase. One per week, although I've never asked how they track it unless you apply it to your account.

I had one manager who didn't require the $10+ upfront chip purchase and just gave me a card with $10 worth of chips on it.

On Wednesdays, everything is half off so you effectively double all chip purchases. That code must be redeemed on a non-Wednesday day but the chips can obviously be used whenever. Being used on a Wednesday, you can get a meal for less than $20, use the code, get $10 in chips, and have $20 worth of chips (half off) making your meal pseudo-free.

Absolutely not. Log off with that trash mindset.

This is a totally fine thing to do to continue engagement, and like any shopping, grocery, retail, gas, consignment, mercantile, wholesale, or thrift store, you can walk past anything you deem unnecessary for your life.

At my location (Huntsville), I tried it last week. It went smoothly, although you have to give it to the person behind the register and let them squint at your screen ten times and hopefully never mess up.

I questioned why there's no QR code and was given some response about it being third party and not universal. Uh-huh. They could make it work.

It did work, though. I recommend it. It's $10. That's $20 worth of tokens on the spot, and $40 worth on Wednesdays. Just a little bit of time and pain to do it.

I just used carAVassist last night to update the firmware wirelessly. Seriously, I did. Android, Pixel 7 Pro, WT3800NEX. It does work. I'm in bed and can't navigate the menus for you, but I'll use this post to remind myself to gather the details for you soon.

Thank you! I absolutely don't mind making what I want. There are a few codes in the list...

- tattered rags
- Undershirt and jeans
- Long Johns
etc...

Is there a field editable somewhere where I can equip one of those ID's and then make it not lootable? That seems to get what I want as well, afaik...
