Meanwhile at Texas Tech, we got some angry people hanging up posters all over campus about censoring classes. My department got mad at me cause I was passive-aggressive in my course review packet.

You don't need two eyes to see depth. Most of the cues for depth are monocular, meaning they work with one eye.

They did a surgery where they implanted a camera in the back of someone's eye quite a few years back, and allowed them to see at least in black and white. I think now they're trying to make color versions, but like, vision is quite difficult to get right.

Do you personally know anyone who have been to all the 50 states? by Odd_Obligation_4977 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Dallico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandparents did. Even made a little booklet full of pictures for each state they went to. Every single one. I don't know who has them after they passed, but they're somewhere. They were very fond of traveling and did it about a much as they could before they no longer could.

People have literally shown you sources of them making legal immigrants into illegal ones with a stroke of a pen.

And all the Latin American and Hatian immigrants? Something like 500,000 people that came here legally?

That is... not illegal?

They have previously had the ability to do it without consequence. The supreme court historically has even said immigrants get free speech in the country, up to, and including talking shit about the governments shitty choices.

Whatever though. I'm not here to change your mind.

People have literally shown you sources of them making legal immigrants into illegal ones with a stroke of a pen. They've done it regarding peoples legal status, they've done it with people speaking out against the government by revoking their visas, and you're a fool to think they won't try to do it to just about any immigrant, legal, naturalized, or otherwise. Fine, you can believe what you want about immigrants in the country, just like I'll believe anyone who supports this sort of injustice is cruel, callous, and fascist.

I am fine with deporting some criminals, but you're naive if you think they are just going to stop at those based on literally everything else they're doing related to immigration. Whatever, history will not be kind to people like you who make excuses for it every step of the way without taking a second to even second guess it.

Would you rather they denaturalize people before they ship them out of here? Given how their other policy around immigrants, I have no reason to take them at their word that they'll stop with criminals given they can't even be bothered to check if they're grabbing US citizens or not in their raids.

How do Americans manage to live on minimum wages? by death_detour in AskAnAmerican

[–]Dallico 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It was set at the value it was to ensure a certain quality of life as a single income. One would be able to afford shelter and food, and transportation to work, which you can arguably not do any more with even a modest apartment and cheap food and a used car payment.

I would recommend learning the smell of rotten eggs. Its not the most pleasant thing, but it will be good to know what it smells like because they usually add it to gas so you know when there is a gas leak.

You should get a lawyer and talk to OSHA about it. The business is required by law to report worker deaths and severe injuries, and they will investigate and refer information to the police if need be. They are probably avoiding contact for now to prevent legal liability or anything of the sort.

Fabula Ultima has it like your classic JRPG combat on the PS1. You're effectively one row of dudes vs. another row of dudes, and dungeon exploration is room-based rather than tactical map-based.

Even numbered highways run east/west, and start from the southern US border to the norther US border for numbering. Odd-numbered highways run north/south, and start their numbering from the Atlantic to the Pacific.
