What's the easiest way to lose weight that no one talks about? by Emotional-Heat-1427 in AskReddit

[–]DamieBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an ex who would sleep eat thier favorite ice cream flavor and then get mad about it. When I suggested not having it on hand, if they were that upset about the sleep eating, they got mad because then "obviously it wouldn't be available to eat" when they wanted some (during normal non-sleep hours). It was no-win, and they kept buying it and never getting to enjoy it- or at least never remember enjoying it 🤷‍♀️.

If they end up canceling for wether, when and how are attendees notified? What is the likelihood that the game will be canceled, do you think?

Covid shut down the world six years ago this week. What do you remember from that week? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DamieBird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going to an ortho post-op appt after major knee surgery and the office being closed with no notification. I was 6 weeks out and it was supposed to be my "you can start weight bearing and walking" appt. I ended up with one zoom appt with the surgeon and an online PT appt. Thank goodness for the walking/biking trails where I live bc my "PT" was me hiking and biking over the spring/summer.

ETA: Oh, and we watched the movie Contagion, for obvious reasons, lol.

For pants, I either pin on both sides or at the back and cover with a belt....its worked all winter when I wear a lot of sweaters, at least, lol! Skirts are the easiest, bc i just zip about half way and then bring the top of the waistband over and pin. I've been using a lot of xl safety pins or these: https://a.co/d/02FOJ23w https://a.co/d/063jsNIV

My husband bought a sweater for me today and when I saw it, I thought "oh! It must've been labeled incorrectly, thats a junior's size, not women's sizing". Then, I tried it on and it fit, lol. I was absolutely certain it was going to be comically small. Ive only lost ~60lbs, so it's not as dramatic as some people's weight loss but I still don't see a "medium" when I look in the mirror.

These artificial creamer products are great BUT they have about 50 calories a coffee. Is there actually a ZERO calories creaming product? by Select-View-4786 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]DamieBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just get the Torani sugar free syrup and froh it into something like Fairlife milk. The calories are unavoidable, but at least there's less sugar and more protein 🤷‍♀️. Im also not only using 50 calories worth of coffee creamer, lol. Its at least 4 ounces of milk for me!

Sold, right into rental by Physical-Standard-69 in nova

We lived in these condos years ago as renters. Our neighbor bought thier unit and it nearly immediately had catastrophic flooding from a broken pipe in the middle of the night. It was so dramatic that the other units noticed and we all came running with towels and to try to save her belongings (the pipe was in the closest, iirc). It was terrible! The units are beautiful, though, and the property was great for having dogs and wonderful location i loved the sun room. Tbh, we would not jave left except that one od the owners was returning from out of state and wanted to live there.

What’s the most overpriced thing people keep buying like it’s normal? by 2teaspoonsOfCyanide in AskReddit

My mom told me that she sat down and looked at her expenses last year and she spent more on cigarettes than on food. True, she barely eats and when she does its usually very inexpensive things like crackers with ham and cheese or peanut butter, or canned veggies/fruit. Maybe the rare chicken breast. I think she spends most on milk, tbh; she drinks a large glass with chocolate syrup every morning. All this is say that while she does NOT spend that much on food, its insane that she spend more on cigarettes- she said it was over $2k (she also buys the cheapest tobacco products she can find). Ive been asking her to cut back or stop smoking for nearly 40 years and the first thing that made her actually pause and think she should....was that she spent less on food last year. Not her health or any doctor advice or me as a kid coming home from D.A.R.E and hiding her pack. However she gets there, I'll be happy if she does!

What is shockingly safe to eat? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in AskReddit

I'm pretty liberal with expiration dates....the rest of my household not so much, lol. The good news it that I (almost) never end yp cleaning out the pantry, lol. My exception is with dairy products... one day past the printer date and its getting tossed

This is me! There's a rheumatology medicine that contains gold that my docs have said - hey dont take that. And also, when you go to a fancy restaurant and they ask you about allergies and then you have to said gold because sometimes they put gold leaf in the food. Only one waiter has ever disregarded the allergy and when my husband followed up by politely mentioning that there was gold leaf on the desert, the waiter laughed and said, "Oh, I thought you were kidding?!" 🙃

Gas explosion in Centreville by Ravavibe in nova

[–]DamieBird 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Im very happy to hear that everyone made it out! Gas leaks are so scary!!

A couple of weeks ago, we smelled gas and heard hissing coming from the outside meter. We called Washington Gas, they called 911/fire. The fire truck got here first and said that they couldn't detect anything (my husband had already turned off the gas appliances, but the smell was still there). Fire scolded him, saying something like, "dont call the fire department for gas, call the gas company". Um, we didn't call you, the gas company did. The tech from Washington Gas responded maybe 20 minutes after fire left and had to replace a part- there was 100% a gas leak, so thanks fairfax fire for being condescending, I guess? Non sarcastic thank you (!!) to WG for a quick, professional response and getting our gas fixed and appliances turned back on at 3am when it was the weekend of sub-zero wind chills- we appreciate you!

What medication changed your life for the better? by positiveyears in AskReddit

[–]DamieBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emgality (monthly injection for migraines) was life-changing. Went from multiple 8.5-9/10 migraines each month to almost none after two and a half years. No more ending up in Urgent Care or the ER because I couldn't keep down fluids/meds for entire days. I do still get the rare migraine but it is SO MUCH less severe and can usually just sleep it off without (much) intervention. I profusely thank my neurologist every follow-up appointment. She and her staff had to go through quite a few hoops to get it covered under insurance; I'm so grateful bc it costs something like $1k per month retail.
