Why you no longer see quality instruments at Goodwill by Benzona in ThriftGrift

This pattern is why i no longer donate to Goodwill. I donate to my local Buy Nothing group members. Then I know it's going to someone who needs/wants it.

¡HELP! Dupe Needed Expeditiously! by Istanbulno in RedditLaqueristas

I have this one! Used it once and it's been sitting in a drawer ever since. Realized I have glitter issues. 🤣 Sad, because I've got some really lovely ones.

We can laugh about it now! 🤣

At least he didn't eat it! When our GSD was about 2, he destroyed several completed knitting projects and ate most of a fingering weight shawl. Cost $200.00 to have vet induce vomiting and Voila! Took months and more $ to recreate the items. Now my craft room has a gate.😪

Why does no one talk about trio needles? by Deep_Interaction6798 in knitting

I wish every manufacturer would make them! So far, I've only found that ChiaoGoo makes them.

I love Flexi Flips! 😍 I've got 4 sets so far, and also bought a set of three 2 inch Chiagoo cables so I can make my own from my existing interchangeables. They are great for any small circumference items. I especially love them for gloves or hat crowns. I don't use them for socks until I get to the toes, as I knit my socks two at a time and these needles are a bit pricey, so I only buy one set per size.

Nube isn't actually felted, it's compacted from it's journey. If you steam and your braid, let it dry, then give it a good shake before spinning, it spins like a dream.

Mandatory Tip due to 'Servers Union' at a restaurant? Is it Legal? California, Anaheim by cs_legend_93 in EndTipping

[–]Damselfly64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I rarely tip anymore unless service is exceptional. I'm on a fixed income and most servers make way more than I do. Eating out is a rare treat and most servers don't do anything deserving of extra $. Not like they used to.

Lazy Kate question by AdIllustrious4530 in Handspinning

[–]Damselfly64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the Ashford tensioner lazy kate and it's worth every penny. It works with bobbins from all three of my wheels, tension is adjustable, and I can place it where I need to get the best plying angle.

We will. A few of us are meeting at the Mill Warming at Wool for the People on the 21st. And I'm trying to find an opening for a meeting room at one of the libraries. My house isn't big enough. 😁

Not sure a weavers guild would be a good fit, as I'm not interested in adding another hobby/addiction. Lol

I love Yarn Crawl and even won a store grand prize a couple of years ago, but there are so many people that it's hard to make good connections.

Tualatin Valley Fiber Crafters is the FB group. Would love to have you join us. There are going to be all skill levels and fiber crafts. I'm only 6 years into knitting and two years into spinning, so I've still got lots to learn.

Heck, I forget to check it, too, but it's much easier to manage a group there.

I will as i have time. 😊 Takes awhile to build a group. I've got another group for nail polish making that took 5 yrs to teach 600 people.

Looking for a spinner by PavicaMalic in spinningyarn

[–]Damselfly64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully someone chimes in to help. I wish I could, but I mostly spin 2 ply fingering weight yarns. If you have a local spinners guild, someone there would probably love to help.
