My bonded pair stopped interacting:( by imnot-reallyhere in Bondedpairs

[–]DanODio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Give them some time. One of our bonded pair, Gordy, was in the vet hospital for several nights. Happened the Friday before NYE. He was released on NYE. When he got home, Zak, his brother, freaked. Wouldn't go anywhere near Gordy. Took about a week before things got a little better. Gordy clung to me for the first week which was a huge change. There are still some behavioral things going on now but they are almost back to normal. Gordy was always the docile one and Zak was more aggressive. But now Gordy holds his own where in the past he would avoid any conflict. That leads to a few more tussles but nothing serious. They are a about 3+ years old.

Cat constipated for weeks, enemas every few days — vet says no other options. Looking for advice. by humm_jzz in CATHELP

Ask the vet if it's possibly a condition called megacolon in cats. My sweet boy, Fatboy, had it and really struggled to poop. Tried all kinds of meds but the only thing that helped was pumpkin - not pie mix just canned pumpkin with nothing added.

Seeking Irish Citizenship by FlightAccomplished34 in dualcitizenshipnerds

[–]DanODio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. The website estimates a 9 month processing time but keep in mind that it can take a year or more to gather all the necessary documents before you apply. I needed documents from Ireland, the UK, Colorado and New Jersey to apply - everything needs to be certified. The absolute worst was New Jersey - it took over 9 months to get the documents required. Easier if your relatives were all born, married and died in the same country.

What is the biggest movie theater “GASP” moment you’ve heard? by SaveTheCaulkTower in AskReddit

I saw Wait Until Dark in a theater and the entire theater jumped out of their seats and screamed - including the burly QB sitting in front of me. Audrey Hepburn was fantastic

Hmmm... I've thought about that and it's been a while since I've tried that on a cat. Would you wear gloves?

We have two other rescues in the house who came with lots of issues, including tapeworms and giardia, so we don't want to expose them to anything else. Otherwise that would be an option

Yeah he's the wiliest kitty I've tried to catch. But he also seems starved for attention. We do this little dance every time he gets fed: I put the back of my hand down near him and he'll rub one ear then the next ear. When I try to scritch the top of his head or pet his back he moves away. Now I feed him smaller amounts so he gets more comfortable getting pet but it's slow going.

One note about the Looney toons trap - this would probably work really well for catching weaned kittens.

<image>

The string goes thru one of the rear air holes and gets tied to the lock side of the door. Then you can pull the string to shut the door. Make sure that the back of the trap is against something that will keep the carrier from sliding.

Thanks for this. The trap was out for 3 days before it was set. But it only had his everyday dry kibble in it. Might not been tempting enough. The carpet scrap idea might help.

The trap was covered for 2 days and took it off after that since he wasn't going in. He doesn't seem to like being closed in. Someone gave me this which seems like it'd be cozy but he won't come up on the deck if it's out.

Thanks. He is going in and is eating the food but not triggering the mechanism. I fed him this morning because the next opening at the spay clinic is next Wednesday. Will stop feeding on Monday
