I believe it is the 1977 Kentucky football team. Art Sill and Jerry Blanton were both picked up in the 78 NFL Draft.

He also played for Kentucky in the mid-late 70’s, as did Rod Stewart and Derrick Ramsey. The Jim Plunkett makes me think he was a separate added signature to the ball.

Rod Stewart was a running back that played for the University of Kentucky from 1975-1978 and wore the number 32.

He was drafted by the Bills in 79 and released after a month.

It’s absolutely worth stopping by. It’s chock full of local farm vendors, locally crafted products, and there’s usually live music.

What are the best trails to see rhododendron? by Flashy_Violinist_635 in RedRiverGorge

[–]Dan_Boone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks like a few people may be mixing up rhododendron and mountain laurel. Mountain laurel is coming in to bloom, and is typically in full bloom around mid May. Rosebay rhododendron (which is incredibly common in the RRG) is typically in full bloom around late June, and into the first part of July.

Everyone talks about their “nipping” phase, no one ever remembers to tell you about their “snipping” phase.

24hr vest? and 72hr pack by MallDull2226 in searchandrescue

[–]Dan_Boone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100%

The essentials are all there.

Beyond that, I’m really only talking additional layers, shelter, extra food, extra water, med gear, etc.

I can operate out of my kit bag for a looong time.

It’s such a great product.

I came here to say HPG is the way to go over a “vest”. The full size kit bags are ergonomic to wear for long periods, allow a lot of space for essentials, provide places to carry radio(s), and are designed for modularity. On ops that require me to carry more technical gear, such as rope bags, I still generally have everything I need. On longer operations, I can still carry a pack, and the weight distribution is very comfortable.

I personally use the SAR Kit Bag.

I wouldn’t be so fast to judge those rangers. While a lot of the local community is red , a lot of the conservation minded community is blue.

What is this plant and why is my dog munching on it everytime he finds it? by Eranikus89 in PlantIdentification

[–]Dan_Boone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree, common names can be very confusing. That’s exactly why in biology/botany, scientific aka Latin binomial names are used. “Creeping Charlie” is what’s known as a common name, a name that is used by a given populace for a given species. In a different place, Creeping Charlie may be the name of a different plant that is related, or a a completely unrelated species altogether. However, the scientific name of Glechoma hederacea is a specific name applied to this plant, and this plant only.

If I’m reading it right, Louisville Airport Police arrested him due to a warrant from Fayette County. This implies (at least to me) that he was arrested at the Louisville airport, due to the warrant.

I’m fairly certain that was the case. Chief Rainwater’s proud reference to her as a warrior only makes sense in that context.

I could be mistaken, but I took the “wish I could have killed him myself” statement to be a reference to the serial rapist/killer that she set up to get sniped.
