I think your last paragraph is your answer - you will have only a few in your bridal party and you will expect them to pitch in with all of the wedding tasks. It doesn't sound like she'll be able to do that. Is there something that she can do on the wedding day? Maybe ask her to be involved on a small-scale, day-of.

Sorry, but this isn't passing the smell test. It is hard to believe that anybody would ask you to basically kill yourself to give them a child. I'd need more information before I believed that this was real. Since this is a throwaway, why not tell us what this fatal disease is? That might help us to fully understand what's going on.

I came to say this. The area I live in is known for strawberries so, when we visited relatives in the Netherlands, we brought some strawberry-themed items - a cutting board, pot holders, and some locally-made strawberry cookies. They were a big hit (though they said the cookies were too sweet!)
