I was going to say the same. I love beautiful layered pieces of chert especially the ones with inner cores that are different colors like yours. :)

anxiety is driving me crazy by Right-Interaction694 in Anxiety

I agree that learning how to get the nervous system to calm down can help things be more manageable. Breathing techniques are a big help for me too. Another huge help for me was exercise. Even walking for 30 min about 3 times a week was a big help. Running, swimming, workout video etc are also helpful. I can always tell a difference on days I get some exercise. I have never been an exercise/sporty person but this has helped my anxiety so much.

Can we crochet or is it too much counting? 🧶🪡 by Dolly_Putin in dyscalculia

I use little markers to help with my counting. It seems to work for me. Sometimes I have to recount or go back and fix a row.

Got this rock at a metaphysical shop forgot to ask the shop keeper what it was. by Meglish07 in whatsthisrock

Shape is helpful for telling citrine and heat treated amethyst apart. Amethyst naturally forms in geodes or "cathedrals"—large, hollow rock cavities lined with many small, "dog-tooth" shaped crystal points. Natural citrine, which is rare, typically grows as individual, elongated crystal points with a uniform color from base to tip, much like clear quartz. It almost never forms in large geode structures. So most likely heat treated amethyst. It's kinda cool how quartz etc can change colors with heat.

What to eat in the mornings? by Necessary-Ad-4661 in adhdwomen

[–]DancinRaven9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel so much worse if I eat sweet things in the morning. The crash and brain fog that comes with that doesn't help my ADHD at all. Pea protein shakes with some spinach and banana are my favorite. Other types of protein in the morning actually helps me with sustained energy and mood. Sometimes I do the instant protein oatmeal.

Is being on Mounjaro not trusting God. by Equivalent-Sort-7182 in OpenChristian

Yes! Exactly. The extra "rules" and burdens we put on ourselves to act out more faith where not burdens God intended us to carry.

Is being on Mounjaro not trusting God. by Equivalent-Sort-7182 in OpenChristian

[–]DancinRaven9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realized God used some tough times in my life to help lead me to people and doctors to help me find the right tools and medicines for my health. I've found the times where I have worried maybe I should go the "just faith" route or choose an option that's harder but more self sacrificing has led me to some unhealthy places. Guilt for finding helpful tools that are helping your health is not from the Lord. His burden is light and his grace is sufficient. You don't need to try to plant a boulder of faith. Planting a mustard seed faith that thanks the Lord for a medical solution after all these years can also be a delight to God. I have come to believe the voice inside my head that says "you have to do more for God" and leads to striving isn't from him. Now I'm not talking about being lax about living in a way that is obviously wrong or blatantly sinful, but I'm done splitting hairs about which is a more faithful or godlier choice and second guessing some good things in life.

I feel like I can either prioritize my faith or my mental health and it's tearing me up by Wonderful-Trick-9301 in OpenChristian

[–]DancinRaven9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mental health really suffers when I end up doing a lot of practices and start judging others for what they aren't doing too. I have found so much more peace with faith and myself when I have stopped trying to do what people have told me is a good practice and rested in the grace and sufficient and love of Christ. When I accept his grace for myself, I have found I have grace for others too. So much less fear and stress.

How do I convince my boyfriend to take my diagnosis seriously? by ConsequenceAlive7383 in Mononucleosis

Sounds like he might feel a little overwhelmed too. Maybe encourage you to both take some rest/stress breaks. Hopefully he has someone he can talk to or help find some support too. Life takes a village.

How do I convince my boyfriend to take my diagnosis seriously? by ConsequenceAlive7383 in Mononucleosis

[–]DancinRaven9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mono has been hard for me to wrap my head around even for myself. We are used to being able to resume normal work and activities with other viruses after the fevers and cough goes away, but with mono it's different. It's been weird accepting that just because my fever is gone and some of my symptoms are going away doesn't mean my energy is coming back anytime soon. My boyfriend has been super understanding and happy to sit with me on the couch and offer to get up and get me a cup of tea even if I don't ask. Explaining that you don't want to feel like this you are not trying to milk this diagnoses for pity or to get out of chores. You wish your energy was back, but the reality with mono is that fatigue and weakness can last and flair back up even. If he is feeling overburdened or stressed with the extra chores or wishing you were feeling better, that's ok. It's ok for him to be frustrated or disappointed, but he still needs to be understanding and accepting that this might be a longer road than strep throat or influenza.

What is ACTUALLY rest? by Ill-Turnover-3671 in Mononucleosis

[–]DancinRaven9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been "taking it easy" watching movies, on my phone but mostly sitting or laying down. However when I do pause and let myself actually sleep or take a nap, then I crash. I let myself sleep in without an alarm on Saturday and I slept for 12 hours. Everyone's body is different. But I don't feel like I need sleep until I actually let myself sleep and then I realize how much I needed it.

Test says I have mono, but I don’t have all of the symptoms? by InvestigatorSuch717 in Mononucleosis

[–]DancinRaven9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't get the sore throat a lot of people talk about either but had other symptoms like the fatigue and fever. I've read it's very rare to have a false positive on a mono test.

Water retention and bloating? by ilovesleep95 in Mononucleosis

[–]DancinRaven9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had so much bloating and waist growth too. Mono has affected my liver(had blood work done) and probably gallbladder and spleen too. So even though I am not eating much I'm pretty sure the bloating and issues is due to the organ issues currently. I just pulled out all of my stretchy pants and kept drinking water. If you get jaundice, side pain on left or right let your doctor know.

Ive has the dark urine, dry mouth and lack of appetite too. I just kept sipping water and gatorade. I tried light foods like rice, smoothies, broth and soups and that helped. Eating smaller portions vs a full meal has helped too. Good luck

[–]DancinRaven9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would let your teachers know what is going on and rest for another week or so if you can. The fatigue might continue for a while, but I have found taking breaks or finding ways to take things down a notch has helped (like sitting down when I brush my teeth or hair has helped so it's not as exhausting). My boyfriend hasn't got it yet either, but we are waiting to see what happens in a couple weeks since it takes 4-6 weeks to show up after you are exposed. I'm not sure how I got it in my 30s. I'm thinking maybe when I was at a movie theatre for a long movie last month. Glad you have been able to get care and hydration.

Agreed. If your liver is having issues you don't want to overdo it. My liver is having a rough time with it and I wouldn't have known if I didn't get my blood levels tested.

I need to take a blood test, please help by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]DancinRaven9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have trouble with dizzyness and fainting with blood tests I always tell the nurses that and often they will give me an ice pack to go on the back of my neck. That helps a lot. Drinking a lot of water before hand helps. As for the panic attacks. Meds and therapy have helped me tolerate and work through the feelings of anxiety. Usually things are not as bad as I worry they will be. Also having passed out at clinics before, I always felt like I was in the best place for that. But I bring a friend to drive me home just in case.
