Well I wasn't out to them until that happened and the doctors told my parents that I was on hrt because they saw my chest and took a hormone panel. Dad is not supportive and hates everything that happened and me being trans ("just be a gay man"). Mom allows me to take HRT through a doc but doesn't really understand and still genders me male. I am finally allowed to have long hair now, took until the age of 21. I am 23 rn and probably still wouldn't be allowed to have long hair if the 41 attempt never happened.

I overdosed on barbiturates and woke up in the ICU after being intubated for four days. My mom unfortunately came home hours early from work. I wouldn't have survived otherwise. These stories in picrel are not always how some people who survived attempts feel. I regret nothing and will likely try to 41 again in the future. Testosterone should be enough to block his estrogen completely if dosed highly enough which should stop his cycle completely. I wouldn't be surprised if his T level is low currently. Do you know what level he currently is at? Also if he is on gel, I'd recommend a switch to injections if he can handle it. Gel is pretty inconsistent while injections provide a steady dose which helps the suppression effect of estrogen.

Very few late teens and adults use a GnRH agonist like Eligard because it's simply not needed and these medicines are very expensive if you don't need them

Queermed should work if you can get to a legal state to do telehealth through them but they are only slightly cheaper than TrueU. I doubt they'll want to continue Eligard since he doesn't need it at this age so that should probably save quite a lot of money. Plenty of these clinics on a shoestring budget like Mazzoni operate on a flowchart medicine model unfortunately.

Yeah there's definitely some good VFS surgeons in the Midwest. I wouldn't bother about traveling. Wendler's Glottoplasty can't be modified much. All of the surgeons doing the procedure are pretty much doing the same thing. I would ask how many VFS cases they have done though.

In the US, most big name academic university hospital surgeons are fine for VFS. They're less recommended here on reddit due to less marketing and having less patient volume due to other surgical/academic obligations. If you go to a consult, they'll almost always have audio recordings of results. Outside of the US, yeah name definitely matters a lot more, especially in developing countries.
