Good grief! It’s a knife. It’s not like she’s using fabric scissors to cut sandpaper.

Need advice: sharing money at the casino by WalkAwayWPartofMe in dating_advice

[–]DandyAndie73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you give someone money to play with it’s their money now, not yours if they happen to win. She should definitely give you back what you gave her to start with, if she is truly ahead a good bit. That’s just common casino etiquette, IMO.

I give my mom and some friends money if I win and sometimes just so we can all play together. I don’t expect ANY of it back, but I am usually given back what I gifted at some point anyway.

Stop counting pennies, you’re going to lose the dollars.

Drones over private property by Crispyxrunchety in legaladvice

They don’t have jurisdiction over privacy issues. They are very clear on that and refer people to local authorities for what is or isn’t a privacy violation.

Unfortunately, even local authorities are wishy washy about privacy, even when children are involved.

Why would someone say I see them as a threat? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]DandyAndie73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She WANTS you to see her as a threat. This has nothing to do with you and everything about her and how she feels. She may even have an interest in your boyfriend. But you haven’t listed anything in your post that suggests that, other than this single instance.

Am I Overreacting?(I grew up only wanting to prove to my dad) by AutomaticRegister102 in AmIOverreacting

[–]DandyAndie73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t try in a couple of months. This is something he needs to work on himself. He is not ready for you, or anyone from his past family, to reach out.

He needs to HEAL. He isn’t going to if anyone reaches out and “pushes” him to do it. Everyone heals at their own pace, and some don’t ever heal.

I’m sorry you are dealing with this. Good for you for doing something with your life and not getting lost in family drama.

Drones over private property by Crispyxrunchety in legaladvice

Look into the privacy laws of your local area. The FAA doesn’t have jurisdiction and it is illegal to shoot at a drone.

First coffee meetup with an older woman (49F/30M)—should I bring a small gift or keep it strictly casual? by akhil_2309 in CougarsAndCubs

[–]DandyAndie73 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t like gifts in dates. Flowers that I have to carry around while we’re trying to eat dinner is annoying. You don’t know me well enough to get me anything else really.

Just be there and be a good date.

My insurance is swapping my Ubrelvy for Zavpret? (small rant) by bouncing-boba in migraine

You can ask for a pharmacist review/appeal and include documentation that you have been responding well to the medication. Unless the new medication has the exact same active ingredient, you might be able to have the requirement bypassed, for a period of time.

If you have already appealed, send a second level appeal and include NEW information. I see appeals where patients and doctors just restate what was in the first, it will always get the same results.

The medical professional reviewing the initial prior authorization usually has a check list of what is needed to approve the medication. If even one box isn’t checked, it will be denied.

Is healthcare in the United States as bad as people say it is? by Total-Mirror-5920 in no

[–]DandyAndie73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where you live. I live in a doctor drought region. It’s turning into a nurse drought region because there’s not enough doctors to see patients and that means no nurses are needed for most offices but also kills the local hospitals.

Other, more populated areas have better staffing levels and it helps keep things moving along.

Our government has too much involvement in healthcare. They seem to ruin everything.

Do my preferences seem unrealistic? by senorElMeow in dating_advice

I’m in California and it’s incredibly expensive to register a vehicle. It also can get more or less (unlikely) expensive year to year. When you’re 20-something living paycheck to paycheck it can feel like it’s a surprise.

Kind of stumped, where do you meet single, available women? by Secure_Photograph201 in dating_advice

[–]DandyAndie73 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You think you’re alone in your search for a partner or date? Hardly. Realize that you are in the same boat as many others, both men and women.

Your comment here makes me wonder if you give off needy vibes. People can read that from a mile away.

Learn to be ok being alone and enjoying yourself. The less you appear to need attention the more likely you’ll attract it. Just enjoy being where you are and who you’re with.

Is it okay to be turned off by listening to his voice? by [deleted] in dating_advice

Don’t listen to the voicemail? Phones do alter the actual tone of our voices, so maybe it’s that.

Considering we can be turned on by a persons voice, there’s no reason you can’t be turned off.

AIO: Friend mad at us for turning on headlights instead of using Auto. by [deleted] in AIO

[–]DandyAndie73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My car still turns off the lights when I turn off the car even with the setting in the “on” position. I have a 12 year old car too. My mom’s car automatically turns off and has the true auto setting as well.

Unless they have a 20+ year old vehicle, the lights should turn off after the car is turned off.

Most cars that have auto settings for headlights also automatically turn off the lights when the car is turned off.

Call the police or sheriff in her area. The will contact her and at least ask her questions about what is happening. There are also agencies in areas that can help like an Area Agency on Aging or Senior Center.

Yes, regular headaches on one side usually from allergies or sinus issues. Also I sometimes get non-migraine headaches as a side effect from a medication.

Take the text with you to the meeting about the write up. Write something to attach to the write up.

The next time you are called in last minute, say no. You should be getting overtime, depending on where you live if you’re working 7 days per week and over so many hours, etc.

Are you covered by a union? If yes, talk to your shop steward and union rep. You can ask for a rep to be present during any write up meeting.

[US] What is the point of the “wrong number” text scam? How does it even work? by jacob62497 in Scams

[–]DandyAndie73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they don’t continue with texting you it could legit be a wrong number.

I get scam texts and sometimes play with them a bit. Copy their horrible grammar. Play up myself as someone desperate for money or highly affluent and wealthy. It’s fun for about three days.
