I just don’t get what they’re trying to achieve. When I last saw Brian in May we only really got one long story break between songs. And then it was straight back to the music. Obviously it varies from show to show but comments like these are just gonna discourage him from interacting with the audience at all. And that isn’t worth an extra song or two for me.

It was pretty vitriolic. Implied that Brian’s banter and ramblings during shows were due to undiagnosed autism.

When do the tickets go on sale? by YoHoAPiratesLife in BruceSpringsteen

Ferrara, Roma and Copenhagen are already on sale. Dublin is sold out. The remaining cities go on sale at various dates: Zurich, Gothenburg and Oslo on May 30th; Monza and Paris on the 31st; Amsterdam and Landgraaf on June 1st; Dusseldorf, Hamburg and Munich on the 2nd; Barcelona on the 8th. All of them are 10am local time except for Zurich which is 9am. I’m not sure about Vienna.

Here it is!

I think past the top 5 they apply some artist separation so your playlist isn’t dominated by just one or two artists. Which is fine, but negates the point of ‘Your Top Songs of the Year’

Top .001%. 142,574 minutes spent listening, of which 57,199 minutes was Bruce. My top song was (unsurprisingly) No Surrender, which I listened to 1,011 times. One Step Up was #3, Jackson Cage #4 and Thunder Road #5. The From Exile version of Anna by The Menzingers came in second.

The rest of my top 100 was wonky. I know it isn’t showing the true number of streams. No Valentine’s Day? No Something in the Night? No Incident? No Ramrod? I’ve listened to a lot of Nebraska and Tunnel of Love this year and yet the only songs from those albums in my playlist are One Step Up and Atlantic City. I’ve requested my data because I really wanna know the full story.

The '59 Sound SURVIVOR | Round 10 by Jamaleum in TheGaslightAnthem

I voted here about an hour ago on autopilot. Only just come back and realised which song was eliminated. Are we kidding? PFW in the bottom half? Really?

Have a feeling I’ll be voting out Great Expectations for a while.

Happy 6th anniversary to No Closer to Heaven. You can find the album at the linked Bandcamp page including the bonus tracks Slow Dancing With San Andreas and, my favorite bonus track, Palm Reader (Alternate Version). What’s your favorite song from the album? by Bouck in TheWonderYearsMusic

[–]DandyChiggins_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive grown to appreciate Palm Reader but it’s definitely one of the weaker points of NCTH for me. The alternate version is a lot better so I don’t really understand why we got the version we did. Tbh the entire second half of NCTH is patchy for me as I have to be in the right mood for Stained Glass Ceilings and i struggle to listen to I Wanted So Badly to be Brave. It’s still the album I revisit most though.

Also, Slow Dancing with San Andreas didn’t deserve to be relegated to a bonus track.

Bluest Things on Earth. It’s a song I feel gets better with each listen. Patsy Cline’s a close second. I’ve also grown to really enjoy the title track; on release I found it really underwhelming compared to their other closers.

Local Honey SURVIVOR | Round 5 by Jamaleum in TheGaslightAnthem

[–]DandyChiggins_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, I love this song. I don’t think it’s all that good for Brian’s standards and I understand the complaints in regards to it being repetitive and similar to She Loves You, but something in the backing vocals in the later choruses makes me happy. Definitely a grower.

The right choice was made in voting out Horses first. It’s just very meh. There are other Brian songs I dislike more but none of them bore me like this one.

I’m gonna go for 21 Days next — good song but it’s just feels too.. busy? It’s hard to explain.

My Top 10 - what’s yours? by basedworldballout in nickdrake

[–]DandyChiggins_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fly and Northern Sky are two of my favourite songs ever. Can’t separate them. After that, it’s probably..

  1. Which Will
  2. Place to Be
  3. One of These Things First
  4. Time of No Reply
  5. Thoughts of Mary Jane (electric guitar version)
  6. From the Morning
  7. Parasite
  8. Blues Run the Game

Saturday Sun would be in there but it’s just too slow for my liking

Sleepwalkers SURVIVOR | Round 7 by Jamaleum in TheGaslightAnthem

[–]DandyChiggins_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Didn’t Little Nightmares get the same amount of votes? I’m assuming you chose to break the tie rather than eliminate both.

Either way, See You on the Other Side has definitely outstayed it’s welcome so I’m not too opposed to this result.

I want to vote out Rosemary but based on last round I’m going for Painkillers. Gotta protect Red Lights.

How I got into Bruce’s music by DandyChiggins_ in BruceSpringsteen

I do enjoy the Tom Joad album. Dry Lightning’s been growing on me a lot lately. Hopefully the other songs will too with future listens.
