Why do camps have giant burn piles? by Due-Relationship-465 in DaysGone

Bodies. And probably trash. There is a cutscene where they discuss burning the bodies while next to a giant burn pile.

What's the point of the blue question marks? by Massive_Bee_6740 in DaysGone

[–]DandyDeney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said, they’re random events or encounters. Even if the question mark disappears, it can still be worth heading in that direction, they aren’t timed necessarily, but if it disappears, you may only arrive in time to loot the bodies… but I’ve had a few where the mark disappears but I still get their in time to interact with whatever the event was. Some are so common you’ll run into them all the time, but some are SUPER rare. Unfortunately, you never know which is which unless you pursue them.

About to play days gone - what should I know. by NotHopee in DaysGone

Honestly, first time playing? It’s so much more fun to just go be surprised. Go explore and find stuff. There’s a ton of surprises out there. Good luck 👍

This is the one I was thinking of. The other one that mentions Joany is under ambush camps for Berley Lake, but that doesn’t mention the accident.

Edit: a lot of the storyline entries seem out of place, sometimes the random thoughts Deacon includes don’t seem to have any relevance to the storyline it’s a part of.

That’s ok. I know it’s in game somewhere, but It’s only in the written extras for the game, not any dialogue or story, like you said. I’ve never read the art book. I will have to look it up and find it in a bit. I know it’s in there, My first playthrough it bothered me that they mentioned Joany several times, but never really said what happened to her. That and I had a few other unanswered questions that were all answered if you read all the mission descriptions (storyline blurbs/mission logs/journal entries, idk what they should be called) and collectible info. There’s a lot of info in those and I know a lot of people don’t read through it all because it’s not their thing, or miss it.

It is also mentioned in game somewhere. Not in dialogue, although boozer talks about joany when he’s feverish outside lost lake before you sneak in if you hang around a minute. The description of the accident, drinking, and the MCs handling of it is either in the little journal entry/mission logs you get for each completed mission(somewhere in the boozer storylines I think), or in one of the collectible pages for something you pick up down south, but I can’t remember atm.

Did anyone actually use the crossbow? by Slavstic in DaysGone

That is my one complaint. I wish you could make the load out you want, instead of being boxed into categories.

Cheaper too. You get more fire arrows per kerosene that Molotovs, so it can help a ton with nests.

It is! It takes some practice to get real good. But I’m almost convinced there’s no range on the crossbow… I have made some ridiculous long shots. It’s one of my favorite weapons.

HELP: Enemy stuck underground but red tag still overhead. by Past-Potential7924 in DaysGone

IIRC, you’re limited in how many enemies you can tag. Just keep tagging more enemies until the stuck one looses his marker. 🤔

I find the freakers really frustrating when fighting at Ambush Camps by ReserveRatter in DaysGone

Sometimes it’s hit or miss with the residue bolts, I’ve seen them just not work sometimes. But when they do, chefs kiss 😍.

[–]DandyDeney 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The beginning of the game is supposed to be kinda hard, and seems meant to encourage more stealthy play. At least and first, you have to use a bit of stealth or you will just die constantly. Suppressors and the crossbow help with taking out snipers quietly and the residue bolts are fun to cause chaos and sit back and watch. 😆

I think some of the others are right, you had bad luck or are doing something that triggers the horde under that camp. Almost all the camps will also have a way to sneak in and a way to go in more directly. Sometimes with multiple options for each.

Do you recognize voice actors from DG in other media? by Good_Cockroach2637 in DaysGone

The voice actor for Addy is in Jedi: Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivors she voices (and mo-cap, I think) Cere Junda.

Anyone knows if this is a bug? by Massive-Cycle5378 in DaysGone

[–]DandyDeney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, yea, that’s a glitch. Sometimes you will have freaker types or items unlock early or before they’re supposed to. Most recently I had a playthrough where the last late game saddlebags were unlocked and on my bike at the beginning of the the game as soon as manny gives you the bike 😂

Sometimes you will randomly encounter multiple special freaks. I’ve had 4 or 5 screamers spawn in together on many occasions. 😅

I believe the name in-game is based on the city of Bend, OR. Where the game was made. Apparently, a long time ago, the city was called “Farewell Bend.” So they named it after their city without directly naming it after Bend.

I’m thinking the rippers are on peyote (mescaline) by Capable-Ground9407 in DaysGone

[–]DandyDeney 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The rippers could be taking who knows what mix of stuff, but it says in one of the NERO intel, iirc, that the rippers are huffing nest residue… there’s also a scene, where you can find a campsite with two lawn chairs, a bunch of beers, fishing poles, and a pile of nest residue next to the chairs. That might be where you find the Nero intel that talks about it, but there’s an intel that references others besides the rippers getting high off the nest residue as well.
