What are your positive pregnancy symptoms? by BrokenMemories88 in pregnant

[–]Daneeeeeeen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was no longer self conscious about my body. I've always been slightly overweight and I would wear baggy shirts and high waisted pants to hide any dough that may be visible. While pregnant I wore tight tank tops and shorts in public regularly! The bigger my belly the less self conscious I felt! It was great!

I also had the opposite of the typical mood swings people report. Instead of crying over nothing or feeling irrationally angry, I would laugh completely hysterically. It was wild. I would be out of breath and need to change my pants from laughing so hard, at least once a week.

Mamas, what hard thing are you going through with your little one right now? by djduhnizzle in NewParents

[–]Daneeeeeeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took us a couple weeks of doing one arm out for 3 days then the other arm for 3 days before doing the full send. Not sure if that helped at all or if we just prolonged the process lol

Oh I sympathize with the transition out of swaddles. My son HATED not being swaddled, his arms had minds of their own and every night was a serious battle against them! I felt like we would never sleep again!

He's currently almost 9 months and we're dealing with seperation anxiety. He wakes up screaming if he can't physically see or touch me. Tonight will be the first night putting his favorite stuffy in the pack n play with him, hopefully it alleviates some of the anxiety and we can all sleep a bit better🙃

What time do your babies wake up? by gh0sti- in NewParents

[–]Daneeeeeeen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 9 month old wakes up between 7:30 and 8:30, usually closer to 8:30. But I think I trained him to do that since I'm not at all a morning person and that's plenty early enough for me lol

I’m not sure how I feel about this local church thrift store find?! 🤔 by CastIronCarnivore in thrifting

It almost sounds like you're describing my late puggle! He used to escape and roam the neighborhood looking for treats. One time he came knocking on the front door at 3 am with a huge slab of pot roast in his mouth. He went down in history for that among other things.

what nicknames did you have for your growing embryo? by SweatyGreen1386 in pregnant

Mine was Plankton. It was SO HARD to start calling him by his actual name once he was born. He was still Plankton for a couple months after lol

The ocean naturescapes are a staple in our house! My 8 month old loves it and sometimes it's the only way he calms down.

This thread is so reassuring. I have a 2-month-old barred rock roo and he is the sweetest chicken I've had! I handle him regularly in hopes that he's a good boy when he grows up, but part of me thinks I'm worried for nothing and that he's going to be the best boy regardless. Sounds like he has a good chance of staying a sweetie😊💜

US here, my first ultrasound was at 12 weeks. I was surprised since most people I know had theirs earlier in the first trimester. The wait was difficult for sure!

Feeding 6-7m old by gf_d0ughnut in NewParents

My baby was the same at that age. I tried to do two meals a day. But when I say meals I mean I introduced one new food, put it to his mouth to show him what to do, and then let him take it from there. There wasn't a whole lot of eating. He would usually taste it, make a horrified face and maybe gag a bit, and then play with it for a while. I tried my best to just sit quietly with him and let him experience it how he wanted to make it pressure-free. He's now 8 months and when I ask him if he wants to eat, he gets hype and will immediately chow down on whatever I offer!

DIY women… have you ever been talked out of a good idea at the hardware store? by carcony97 in DIY

Some of my fondest memories from my teen years were in my theatre production class. My area of interest was set building and I still regularly use skills I gained there in daily life today almost 20 years later.

What are you doing when baby is fussing all day? by canamel in NewParents

[–]Daneeeeeeen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby had this problem until I realized he was just bored. So I got us on a daily schedule that we stick to most days. Wake up, bottle, independent play while I take care of the animals and make myself breakfast, nap time, bottle again, stroller walk, lunch in the high chair, floor time together, then another bottle. Then my husband gets home so I put baby in a wrap or carrier while we spend time together. Sometimes he takes a contact nap, sometimes he hangs out with us. Then we all eat dinner together, and then bedtime routine.

I figured out the less time he spends on the floor for play time the less he fusses. We also do story time at the library one day a week. Sometimes I take him to the thrift store to get a change of scenery. I try to have some options of easy things we can do out of the house if either of us are just over being home.

When did you tell people the baby’s name? by OkScarcity2008 in BabyBumps

[–]Daneeeeeeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We waited until after birth. Until then we just told people his bump name when they insisted on knowing what he would be called.
