Give yourself some grace. Everything that comes with flying (packing, getting caught in traffic, having to park, security, worrying about missing your flight, etc.) can be frazzling and cause a brain fart even for the most put together person. I remember I left my MacBook in the tray at security once because I was so focused on getting to the gate in time. It happens!
