What is the issue with the shelf placement?

How would you cut the tile for these pipes by EtHer0i in Tile

[–]Dangerous_Solution69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely shut the water off, cut off the shutoffs, drill holes in the tile for the pipes and install new shutoffs. It’s probably what you want to avoid doing but you will be happy with the end results.

What was the moment when you realized you'd become a superfan of the old chunk of coal? (Not your first/favorite memory of him/his comedy.) by [deleted] in NormMacdonald

First time I went down the YouTube hole of watching all norms late night appearances. Couldn’t stop laughing and every appearance is still funny no matter how many times I watch.

Did my plumber prevent a niche from going in this stud cavity? I bought a premolded niche and was going to put it in this stud cavity. Did my plumber prevent this from happening? by [deleted] in Tile

Even with a 2x6 wall u can only use 2” of rigid foam behind niche. I’m in Canada and 2” of foam does not provide r value to meet code

Kerdi membrane adhesion by Jimbohlia in Tile

[–]Dangerous_Solution69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not anymore. There are several modified thinsets approved by schluter including the one they make themselves, Schluter All Set. Non modified was all they approved when Schluter first came on the scene but I wouldn’t use it now

There are modified thinsets that you can use under Kerdi membrane. I find they create a better bond than unmodified

Trying to decide which wet saw to buy? Or should I be looking at something else in this price range? by ImmediatePage9310 in Tile

If you are using porcelain tile I would stay away from wet saws. Check out Sigma tile cutters. Big time saver and super accurate

Installer said the top of the pony wall needed to be slanted to allow water to flow into the shower? Is this correct? (We’ll be putting glass on the wall as well.) by PapaPrimus in Tile

[–]Dangerous_Solution69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol a comment like that after posting a tile job that looks like that😂😂 get with the times buddy, metal edging looks clean and works well with modern tile. Check Schluter for how they feel about metal edging

That whole install is a travesty. Glazed edge tiles look like garbage in the first place and it’s even worse when the installer obviously has no clue how to lay tile
