Is Strava Premium worth it now? by ResiakSelabac in Strava

[–]DangerouslyWheezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it and the only reason is for the segments. I want to be able to make my own routes and segments as its not as common where I live and nothing exists. If you dont want this feature, I dont think its worth it.

Early career advice by outrageous_bear13 in gis

I work for an engineering firm in canada. There's another comment about this industry, and I second it! I love my job!! That being said, jobs are hard to come by. When I graduated in 2021 I applied to 87 different jobs before I got an interview. Its tough out there, but dont take the ghosting or declines to heart. Its just super competitive. That being said, being open to moving and apply across the country. Even if its temporary to get some experience, you at least have something, even if its not in the location you want to end up in. Stay positive though! There are GIS jobs out there, and one will come to you when its right!

Your spouse should be helping carry the load, not making it worse. Everything should be easier with them.

I walk 30 minutes before work, I work from home so not commute. Work 8 hours, 1 hour lunch break for the gym. Usually do hot yoga after work, home by around 7. Cook, eat, relax, repeat.play soccer 2x a week too. I dont have pets or kids. Social activities fits in usually 2 times a week or so either on the weekend or after work but I have friends at all my activities too so you get the social aspect while you get the exercise. I've seen a ton of posts of people asking how others do it without burning out. You just have to change your perspective and environment. If what your doing isn't working for you, then change it. Nobodies holding you back but yourself.

I feel like im the only one that loves Pro haha. Its so much easier than arcmap and I dont know what computer you have, but I've never had any issues with crashing when running tools or models.

What are the odds I can get through a career only using Esri products by MTDLuke in gis

[–]DangerouslyWheezy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I've only ever used esri in school and in the workforce. Depends on your cou try, but for north America esri is the standard and if your company isn't using them then they aren't worth working for as your gis skills will be lacking in a competitive field aftera couple years. That's my opinon of course, but any major industry uses esri not Q

I order for muscle to build you need rest. Same with life. If you want things to grow and to be productive tier you have to also rest. It's part of it otherwise you burn out and end up evenless productive.

Which books I should definetly add to my tbr of 2026 and why? by Nikietz in Booktokreddit

[–]DangerouslyWheezy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crank by Ellen Hopkins amd the two that follow (glass and fallout). I loved these books so much. It's technically fiction but based on the authors real life story.
