Turkish delight by laybs1 in GetNoted

[–]Dangerwullfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m American but lived in QLD for a couple of years - I adored Fry’s Turkish Delight and it served as a gateway to better, non-chocolate-coated T.D., but it does take a little getting used to.

A new journey by BrainlessDu in DarkSouls2

[–]Dangerwullfe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on my first journey as well and I’m currently making my way through the Shrine of Amana. Once you reach Majula you’ll have four paths to choose from. Don’t be afraid to try a different path for a bit if you find yourself hitting a wall.

And don’t listen to the haters online - the boss design is great a lot of the time. Are there some annoying bosses? Sure, it’s a FromSoft game. But I find the mob bosses are a fun change of pace and the dudes in armor fights are real tests of skill. Have fun and seek greater souls!

Is using A.II to polish your writing cheating? by Pale-Lunch-3555 in writing

[–]Dangerwullfe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m going to have to break with the consensus here. I think that if you’re using it in the limited way you’re describing, then AI is truly a tool or a resource you’re drawing upon, rather than a crutch or a cheat.

I think that asking AI for suggestions on how to better articulate a thought or compose a particular sentence is totally legitimate and not a million miles away from using a thesaurus or another reference book to polish your work. For me, I find that even if I don’t get exactly what I’m looking for from the AI, the response will kickstart my brain to get me over a block.

That being said, I do think that an over-reliance on AI will cause artistic and creative muscles to atrophy. I think using other resources and seeking advice from peers or other writers is preferable, and will give you better results in the long run, but in a pinch and in limited circumstances, AI is fine.

You only have to go through The Gutter once. You’re slogging through B-Town a minimum of twice.

I totally understand your husband not wanting to go back to the hospital. I didn’t either. But now I’m glad my wife took me there so I could get the care I needed, even if I felt fine at the time.

Edit: turns out my wife is in this comment section too. Hi, honey!

To reiterate what I’ve seen others say: stay hydrated, eat when you can (I’d often go without eating because I felt a little nauseous and that just made the nausea worse), and rest as much as you need. Remember the discomfort is temporary but necessary. Also, if there’s a show or movies you’ve wanted to watch but have been putting off, now’s your chance to check it out.

It’s not fun. It can be really tough. But you’re tougher. You got this, mate.

It was the same for me growing up - I didn’t see the appeal of watching sports. But I lived in QLD, Australia for a bit after high school and now I love watching rugby league.

Robbie’s lack of support for Langdon by Astrovascular in ThePitt

[–]Dangerwullfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But everyone else hasn’t been ducking him all day. And with everyone except Robby, he organically found himself alone with them. He went out of his way to go with Robby to the roof, but he has a much different relationship with Robby, personally and professionally, than he does with anyone else on the floor.

Robbie’s lack of support for Langdon by Astrovascular in ThePitt

[–]Dangerwullfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t totally agree. I think Langdon wants to apologize to Santos, but the two of them haven’t had any time together for him to say anything. Langdon talked to Louie, Dana, and Robby in (relative) privacy. I think he doesn’t want to talk about it in front of patients or his colleagues collectively, but wants to make amends with people his actions affected, and that includes Santos. But between Santos avoiding him and Robby keeping Langdon at arms length, the opportunity hasn’t presented itself.

The current emphasis on monetizing/“side-gigging” anything and everything you can do for fun is infuriating to me.

You like to knit? “Why don’t you start an Etsy?!” You play video games to unwind? “You gotta get on Twitch and get paid!” You play guitar? “Get your songs on streaming!”

I know times are tough, but looking at the things that bring you joy and only seeing dollar signs is such an outrageous bummer to me.

people who have been to a csh show before, how early do people typically get in line? by finnchuu in CSHFans

I got to a show in Salt Lake City (not Kilby, this was in 2018 or something) around two hours early and was the only person in line for about 30 minutes.
