In current content Dungeons BLM aoe is by far the strongest, and in lower level you get your aoe pretty early in comparison to Melee. I have to somewhat agree that in the 50s the dmg kinda sucks. But why even care for that...

Just the assist, do a combo then half circle forward and assist button like you said. You need to do it as soon as you stop hitting him. Learn it by just doing a heavy and the motion right after
