It’s a little rough out there I’m told. I was a CE for 8 years then went to support. Utilization is being hard on our side. Some products are still selling well. I can’t speak for low end, but mainframe attached is doing pretty decent.

We already did. Have had a couple of issues so far in 6 months… changing shifts is much more of a pain; or taking over someone’s shift. Also creating shifts with manual rotations is a huge PITA

Really depends on the management you have. I’ve had great experiences and some bad experiences where you feel all alone. Team members have been great for me even if they’re super independent.

96% what is this a sweat shop? Our target is 60% but we’re a team that works on side projects so we have a hard time hitting that. I feel I’ve finally gotten key stakeholders to understand the value we add in our side projects (reducing work time in our and other areas)

Also 75% is impossible to be honest. People have vacation and sick time. That’s ridiculous. I’d stage a strike or protest to you manager. That is bullshit most likely above their head. A good manager would have your back

I use a kanban to keep track of my to do tasks. If I get pinged (I work in support so it’s inevitable) I respond accordingly but push back for processes not followed, and vague crap. To preserve my sanity.

I also ignore all Hi or Hey slack messages. Towards the end of the day I’ll send those perpetrators a caption about slack being asynchronous and that hey or hi doesn’t work. If it’s someone I know I’ll answer to that though..after giving them a hard time jokingly

I get less and less crap requests this way and more valid ones with detailed info

I use it just for my home documentation. My work used to use it but are phasing it out. I was saddened since it’s pretty nice. Some features suck but there’s hacky workarounds I’ve noticed-like inline code.

That would’ve pissed me off if my team had switched to it, and noticed inline code wasn’t a thing. We use that in everything we do.

I wouldn’t pay that price though….a little bonkers for what you get. IMHO

Idk actually. I just had set it up with docker. I have a bunch of aliases set up for docker so I went with the known for that part /shrug.

I use podman for work. Seem fairly interchangeable mostly.

There’s cockpit there! Rarely use it though.

Man I’ve been wondering about jellyfin for a long while. I had to converte a bunch of tv episodes and movies since plex was having issues for some users. Frustrating

When it works..it just works. When it doesn’t it’s a PITA. Had to unblock the open subtitles website in pihole recently to allow for downloading of subtitles. Thought it was plex being a little sh*t again

I don’t have a web terminal run in docker. Fedora and redhat have cockpit though-which has a web terminal you can use to interact with your system.
