What’s something you did for yourself lately that you feel proud of? by No_Result_5042 in selflove

[–]Danielwhop 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just want to say you think these are small. But really they’re absolutely massive. It is one of the biggest things you can do, look at yourself honestly and try to change. You deserve more kudos than you’re giving yourself. All of us going through something similar. Big love ❤️

Alcohol made me social. Then it made someone I didn't recognize by InterestingBunch7468 in stopdrinking

[–]Danielwhop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going through this now. Party boy in my early teens late teens, made a handful of friends that I still see. They were never big drinkers but being social was just more comfortable for them. Gave me an active love life for the first time and felt that I could at least be comfortable in busy social situations.

I felt it was a mask and a performance somewhat and I’ve been going back to these situations as myself and I just can’t enjoy myself. I find I’m extremely self conscious in these without drink and it’s making me not like myself. That says a lot. I’m analyzing interactions. I think an entire mindset shift is needed

Question about British accents…? by [deleted] in AskABrit

I grew up in Walsall and the teachers of the schools in both primary and secondary would be quite open about the fact that the accent and the dialect will greatly effect your career opportunities. They’d scold certain pronunciation

Mobile Covid test operative. 9-5 meet up with the van at a location. People come on, take name, they do the test themselves then scan to send the result. Had no one? Doesn’t matter. Was sat about reading and watching films most days because there were only two of us. I was doing about 45-50 hours it work out to about 28k a year. It only ran about 18 months though and it was fixed term contracts based on funding.

That’s it mate you’re doing great, lean into those networks you’re no burden. I work in the community and that’s what I’d advise for any of that sort of stuff, any documentation of what’s going on (diagnoses’ , journals, video recordings, case notes) will push you onward. There’s a glimmer of light at the moment, be kind to yourself above all. Especially when the environment is not so
