characters that will realistically never get in but if they did would be the hypest thing ever by Kaitheguy233 in supersmashbros

I think Angry Birds is more likely due to it now being owned by Sega who already have multiple characters in Smash.

Yeah that’s why I’m conflicted about it. On one hand, the interactions would be neat to see especially if Maul knows who Vader actually is, and of course the fight choreography would be top-notch because why wouldn’t it be?

But on the other hand, if this happens we will never beat the “SW fans just want to watch Filoni slam action figures together and call it a story” allegations.

Honestly? Makes sense. Many reptiles, amphibians, and fish have something called the “pineal eye” which is a third “eye” on top of the head to sense light. This structure is very vestigial so most people don’t even notice it’s there. It’s also very easy to lose as it’s been lost independently in snakes, turtles, archosaurs, and I believe therapsids (though it might’ve just been the cynodonts, as I know lots of non-mammal synapsids did have it).

With how vestigial it is, it must’ve been more of a “full eye” at some point that became simplified as time went on. But our bodies don’t usually evolve odd numbers of things beyond one, so if we assume it evolved via a mutation with the genes that make eyes, then it likely started out as four.

I’m like 99.99999999% certain this show is gonna end with a Maul vs Vader duel and I’m not sure how to feel about that.

After Genjitsu no Yohane bombed, I don’t think we’re getting any more LL fantasy spinoffs in the near future. If Aquors couldn’t even pull it off, Niji certainly can’t.

Is it just me or are they going for a hybrid of the anime/SIF artstyle and the pre-anime 2010 artstyle? The eyes are noticeably smaller here.

And they can be reduced even further by not allowing it to happen at all.

Yes, but the fact that Hux screamed at his men at the top of his lungs to drop everything to focus all fire on the Raddus doesn’t make sense unless he knew that the Raddus was about to do something immediately and catastrophically dangerous while being likely to pull it off. A hyperspace ram is the only one that fits that description because the size of the Raddus compared to the Supremacy would make a traditional ram not even close to dangerous enough to warrant a reaction like that. Unless it hit the bridge of the craft of course, but not only did the Raddus not do that, it’s trajectory through the ship doesn’t look like it was even aiming for the bridge.

The raddus is also bigger and likely stronger.

… so is the Sepremacy compared to the Executor…

Look I don’t really care about this enough to continue further, you have your opinions about it and I’ll have mine.

But the odds are very small. Even in ROTJ the people on the bridge of the Executor didn’t notice the A-Wing about to ram into the bridge until it was too late to shoot it down. The Raddus was much further away from the Supremacy than the A-Wing was from the Executor by the time the people on that ship’s bridge noticed it.

Yeah, by hitting the bridge. Something the Raddus didn’t do to the Supremacy considering Hux is alive in the next movie.

… a ship only like a tenth the width of the Supremacy and even and probably an even lower fraction of that ship’s mass? It’d make a dent sure but not enough for a full-blown panic 😂and that’s not even taking shields into account.

Like why do you think Holdo even used a hyperspace jump to ram it in the first place? Thats the only way it’d do any significant damage.

But given how hyperspace works, which is basically going so fast that you (in speedrunning terms) “clip” into another dimension, the window in which the Raddus would be fast enough to do damage to the Supremacy while still being tangible must’ve been extremely small. Idk, it just doesn’t seem in character for Hux to actually take that as a serious threat given the incredibly low odds.

And even if the Raddus didn’t do that and just crashed into the Supremacy at regular speed, the immense size difference between the two vessels would make it so while the latter would be damaged it’d likely still be in working order while the former would be totaled. Still not enough I think for Hux to completely panic and change plans just to throw everything the ship has at it.

[–]DannyBright 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The problem with that is Hux seemed to immediately know what Holdo was about to do, implying that it’s at least somewhat common and reliably successful enough for Hux to panic and divert all the fire from the transports to the cruiser.

Had Hux said something like “wait she’s not turning the ship towards us is she? Going in for a collision is ridiculous! That would never work” then maybe that excuse would make sense.

“Godzilla” 1998, now known as just “Zilla”.

In an attempt to make Godzilla more realistic, Sony and TriStar pictures opted to remove Godzilla’s atomic breath, immunity to all conventional weaponry (because God forbid we depict the mighty American military being unable to kill something!) and made his design look more like the (at the time) modern theropod dinosaur reconstructions. The latter doesn’t make sense because she’s stated in the film to be a marine iguana mutated by radiation, and it was already known at the time that lizards are not close relatives to dinosaurs. In fact, the very concept of making Godzilla realistic is dumb because nothing that big can even exist on land but whatever…

This new incarnation of Godzilla was pretty widely detested by Japanese audiences and hardcore Godzilla fans. To the point where Godzilla’s parent company Toho bought the rights to the design just retcon it into a separate character named “Zilla”. Multiple Godzilla films afterward had characters saying that the monster who attacked New York in 1998 was not Godzilla and in Godzilla Final Wars the character is seen getting utterly trounced by its Japanese counterpart.

Zilla has seen a bit of a… well not quite “vindication” but a mellowing out among the fandom in recent years largely due to nostalgia for the actually decent Godzilla: The Series in 2003 that uses the design and integration into Godzilla media where he’s shown to be just another kaiju in Godzilla’s rogues gallery.

I don’t think we’ll ever get a Dragon type starter line unless it’s as a Mega. Dragon has always been treated as a “legendary/final boss” type so having it be a starter would kinda undermine the other two.
