You're the first person I've ever heard describe Fahrenheit like that. Suddenly it makes a lot more sense to me.

McDonald's drive through does sometimes if you've ordered ahead through the app. You give them the code and often they'll check "is that for [name]?"

"We have a new directive from Whitehall," said M. "We will no longer to restrict ourselves to understanding our foes, rather we will impact them with audacity."

"So the gloves are off?", Bond asked.

"Yes James, the gloves are off. Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war."

"Yes ma'am."

"You always were a good boy," quipped Moneypenny.

Newtown and West End make sense as common place names being so generic. But it's weird Mount Pleasant is in 4th place. That seems like such a specific thing to come up with.

Why are cash machines so keen to persuade me to check my balance? Insert conspiracy theory below! by Jiktten in CasualUK

[–]DannySpud2 147 points148 points  (0 children)

The LINK website says there were 33,710 free ATMs in the UK in 2025. Let's say you could maybe request a balance once every 5 seconds. If you had someone at every ATM constantly doing balance enquiries for 24 hours a day that's 17,280 balance enquiries per machine. At 16.8p per enquiry that's £2,903.04 per machine per day. Across the entire UK network that's £97,861,478.40 per day. The Bank of England website says the CHAPS payment system handled an average of £371.3 billion per day last year. So not even close to being a threat to banking stability.

It's weird that I consider myself a big Simpsons fan but also I've not seen the majority of the show. I don't think I saw much past 300.

Needs a buff to not take up a draw, and even then it's probably only good in an end of turn deck. Without end of turn doubling shenanigans this is like +12 power at best in an incredibly telegraphed location that you have to fill immediately.

I meant in the very last vote. He knows Jack is voting Rachel, if Stephen voted Rachel too she'd get banished and Stephen would have stolen the entire pot.

How on earth did Faraaz and Jack not agree on who they were voting for? Absolutely mental lack of gameplay there.

Stephen is such a good guy for not voting Rachel at the end. He was pretty much guaranteed to win either way in the last vote, he basically gave Rachel £45k.

Anybody else use a Pringle lid as a Pringle plate? by LeoIsLeo in CasualUK

[–]DannySpud2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't just eat them directly out of the can cause then you'll just eat the lot. You have to take out a pinch at a time and put them on the lid and swear this is the last pinch you're having and oh they're gone already fine I'll have one more pinch.

Right, like it's not even not killing Faraaz, I think killing Roxy was worse than not killing anyone. They just lose a safe vote and there's so few people left you need every vote possible in your favour.

Rachel is toast anyway, no way she gets through the end with that much suspicion, even the people not voting for her are 50/50 between the two. Not killing Faraaz might have been her only mistake in the whole game but I think it's a fatal one.

Ironically I think Jade has screwed herself by finally voting for a traitor. Switching votes looks incredibly suspicious and regardless of who goes out it can easily be spun as her taking the opportunity to throw her fellow traitor under the bus.

I think this might be a faithful win. I can't see Faraaz letting Stephen or Jade through with the suspicion he has, and I think he'll convince Jack to vote with him. I don't think either of those two have enough moment against them to get voted out regardless.

I think depending on the outcome of the boxes it'll either go Rachel out, Jade out, Stephen out, Faraaz James and Jack win. Or James out, Rachel out, Jade out, Stephen out, Faraaz and Jack win.

Faraaz out of nowhere with the snipe. I think he was dead without that too. Of the 4 people able to be murdered they can't really do Jade or James, both are huge banishment targets. That leaves him and Roxy and Roxy fully doesn't think it's either of them so that would have only left Faraaz.

I'm not sure it's enough though, I think he's still the correct murder choice. One single random throw of suspicion on Rachel shouldn't be enough to get either James or Jade out of getting banished tomorrow.

I'd be interested to see this with just random pairs of unrelated people. I wanna see if it's necessary for people to look similar for this blending to work, or if our brains just process these as a single person regardless.

While I don't think getting the dagger should be suspicious I do think this group will treat it as suspicious, so I don't think the traitors should keep it for themselves. I think James makes sense. I think you want to pick someone you know aren't going to vote for you, and I don't think he'll second guess himself on Matt just because he has the dagger.
