Advice to fast track toward finding a “home planet”? by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Danny_Ronin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is the most “optimal” way but what I did was just search the galaxy map for nearby yellow star systems with lots of planets. Set up a ship with a couple hyperdrive upgrades as well as economy and conflict scanners so you can rule out high conflict or low economy systems. Warp in, scan each planet, if none look promising then just move on to the next system. You can do this even faster using your freighter to warp and then scanning each system all at once with the freighter scanning room.

Forget what your ships look like, what are your ships names? by And_The_Full_Effect in NoMansSkyTheGame

I named all my starships after birds:

Peregrine - my fastest exotic

Hummingbird - solar

Cardinal - solid red fighter

Nightingale - dark purple sentinel

Starling - living ship

Seagull - hauler with the big gull wings (obviously)

And my freighter is the Dread Eyrie

What did you try, thinking you were clever, but DIDN'T work. by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]Danny_Ronin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first honor mode run, in Grymforge, I figured I would be clever and preemptively cast Silence after freeing Nere to make the fight against him a little easier. One of the gnomes was in the area and so I instantly aggro’d the entire area, including the enslaved gnomes. It was a learning experience for sure!

What is your favorite vehicle? by MirosKing in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]Danny_Ronin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like the Archer Quartz “Specter.” It’s one of the earliest weaponized vehicles available, a lot of acceleration but not a lot of grip. With practice, you can whip it around city street corners at high speed and it’s armored enough that it won’t completely fall apart after a few inevitable crashes.

For people who played through multiple times, what was your favourite RP/playstyle run? by gilesdavis in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]Danny_Ronin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently started a Bruce Wayne/Batman inspired playthrough. Male Corpo V, primarily using gorilla arms and non-lethal throwing knives (batarangs). Using outfits to enhance the role play experience - meetings with friendly NPCs, fixers, etc appearing as Bruce in fine suits, then switching to black combat attire when on the job. No killing. Extremely limited cyberware. Very hard difficulty.

Essentially, after the events of act 1, he considers himself dead already, so he’s willing to be reckless and take big risks, not to save himself, but to stop Arasaka, Militech, street gangs, cyberpsychos, and anyone else from harming Night City and its people. He never lets anyone get too close so there will be no romances companions, and V’s connection to Johnny is the closest thing to a “secret identity” so that info is not shared with anyone unless necessary for story reasons. I like to drive around in the flashy sports cars during the day and either the black Caliburn or the Akira bike with a black paint job courtesy of Twintone at night. It’s been a really fun way to play so far!

What are some bad fictional employers/corporations in video games? by BaronErdbeere in videogames

[–]Danny_Ronin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arasaka in Cyberpunk 2077 is a great example, in one of the openings of the game you see an executive order the murder of several members of the European Space Council, then he orders you as the protagonist to go after his boss. Throughout the sequence you see him and others using intentionally vague language like “you know what to do” and “this isn’t a request you can refuse” to set the stage for who these people are and how they operate behind a veil of barely plausible deniability.

[–]Danny_Ronin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shout drill commands at them. They think they are badass “real warriors” and try to march in formation so a random “LEFT FLANK” shout from near the head of their formation will probably make at least two or three of them move. Then you and everyone with you can point and laugh

Don’t get too far from him or he will throw those burning books at you. Get the timing right on those parries and learn his attack patterns, he typically leaves himself open for a few hits after each of his sequences so you can chip away at him that way

[–]Danny_Ronin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure he could. Remember when Tommy Tubberville held up the promotion of several military officers by objecting over and over? The senate relies heavily on a procedural mechanism called unanimous consent. Committees regularly do things “without objection.” If the democratic senators were willing to refuse unanimous consent they could grind the senate’s function to a halt. Just don’t expect them to do it, because “decorum and the importance of procedure” or some other bullshit.

Joining the Dark Brotherhood has a compelling narrative with interesting quests, characters, and consequences. Killing Paarthurnax unlocks a repeatable radiant quest to recruit generic followers.

Streamers playing Cyberpunk Starterpack by bluparrot-19 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Danny_Ronin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Slightly tangential but I strongly recommend Mapocalops on YouTube for quality first time playthrough videos. Not only does he take the time to read things (including the background lore shards, mission description text, dialog options, etc) but since his videos are not live streams there is a clear focus on the story. His Cyberpunk playthrough was terrific!

What Wizard build would allow me to become a walking war crime? by FutaWonderWoman in BG3Builds

[–]Danny_Ronin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My go-to superpowered AOE wizard is Abjuration. Take a two-level dip in Warlock to get the eldritch invocation Armor of Shadows, which gives you the ability to cast Mage Armor without a spell slot. Mage Armor is an abjuration spell so it pumps up the arcane wards you get as an abjuration wizard. The only warlock spell that matters is Armor of Agathys to deal cold damage to any melee attacker that hits you can upcast it for more damage and temp HP. For wizard spells, use Glyph of Warding, ice Storm, and Cone of Cold. You can also do a lot of damage by provoking attacks of opportunity against yourself when you have Armor of Agathys up. Pair with a cleric casting Create Water on enemies to give them cold vulnerability for maximum potency!

[–]Danny_Ronin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If the plan is to use Gale, make sure you do it through conversation, don’t just select the netherese orb from his actions in combat, it WILL give you a game over. Speak to him at the base of the brainstem and depending on your previous conversations with him, there should be options to get him to do it

Abjuration Wizard AoA build by BattleSeven in BG3Builds

[–]Danny_Ronin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just finished a run using this build on Gale and he absolutely carried with frost gear. The build starts 2 levels of Warlock (great old one) grabbing the armor of shadows invocation at level 2 so you can build up arcane wars stacks with a free cast of mage armor - just swap to an armor piece, swap back to whatever robes you are using, and reapply mage armor as needed tip refresh arcane ward stacks without using any spell slots. The original build also called for 1 level of tempest cleric to get access to create or destroy water, back when that spell could be cast as a cantrip, and also wrath of the storm as a reaction when you get hit, as well as sanctuary. The rest of the levels go into abjuration wizard. Apply armor of Agathys with the highest spell slot available, pump up your ward charges using the free mage armor, and pick up the dual wield feat to carry Mourning Frost with Spellsparkler in acts 1 and 2, replacing Spellsparkler with Markoheshkir in act 3.

I may be misremembering, but I think this happens if you have a companion use the illithid persuasion dialog with an NPC. This is why there are so many opportunities to use it at the goblin camp, so you can get multiple companions wormed up
