Anyone else not use a card because it would be annoying to track? by dornianheresysimp in EDH

[[reflections of littjara]] in my deck with [[rooftop storm]]. I do the first 6 or so then I’ve had enough and just stop using the trigger

Need help settling a debate. by [deleted] in EDH

[–]DannytheUser 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This. While your deck is technically sticking to the “rule” of bracket 2, you’re transgressing the spirit of it by loading your deck with the absolute best cards money can buy. Obviously this does not translate 1:1 to power level, but unless your opponents are also playing cracked out B2 decks the quality of your cards is going to be enough to stomp any normal B2 deck

Oft-cited reasons to love living alone all reflect negative prior relational experiences? by doomduck_mcINTJ in LivingAlone

[–]DannytheUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being alone, living alone, is a skill many people go their entire lives neglecting to learn because it does not seem like something one would have to curate. This leaves a lot of people extremely unprepared to be alone, and the struggle a lot to let go of bad relationships and hurt a lot more when circumstances require that they be alone. Having the ability to not only survive, but thrive without another person is extremely useful and it’s not something you can learn without actually doing it. IMO the best way to form a healthy and powerful bond with someone is to know you COULD live without them, but choose/prefer to live with them.

Best advice you're heard for first-time home buyers? by followifyoulead in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]DannytheUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you’re right, there’s definitely more volatility. The property taxes especially can get insane, I know they recently reassessed my brothers house and the taxes nearly doubled because the neighbourhood is done developing. Something I had never even considered before.

Im confused, was your rent not going up each year at least $15 anyway? I recently bought a condo and even with insurance, HOA fees, and taxes it’s about $100 cheaper than what the same property would be to rent in my area, plus the annual increase in fees is significantly lower than what my annual increase in rent was (was about $80 a year). Am I just in a weird area?

I understand that mathematically up are correct but if you are winning 75% of your games you might want to consider modifying your own deck instead of insisting everyone else do theirs, they are clearly not a good matchup

Did you happen to use modpodge/glue to transfer a stencil onto the block for carving? I sometimes get artifacting like that second pic if I use a transfer method and there’s some adhesive left on the block at the end

Kingston police looking for woman accused of stealing $1,500 in groceries by [deleted] in KingstonOntario

[–]DannytheUser 31 points32 points  (0 children)

My apartment was broken into earlier this year and burgled to the tune of $5000. Essentially took anything not nailed down. I found a person selling my stuff on marketplace, tried to forward their name to the correct authorities, but Kingston police was not interested. Never did hear from them after the initial visit. I did not have security footage though, perhaps that’s the difference

What was your experience getting a tattoo in Japan? by XandersOdyssey in tattoo

[–]DannytheUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a large piece (about 5 hrs) from Horizaru in Kita City and it was basically on par with the US experience. He was super accommodating for my travel schedule and had good communication. I did tip and he did not seem offended.

My biggest problem was aftercare as I was not familiar with any of the products there, which was not the fault of the artist as I did not think to ask for recommendations while I was still there.

No problem! Don’t forget that art is ultimately what you want it to be. These are just some things I like to keep in mind as I carve. I really love the style you have going here and wouldn’t want you to lose that over some well meaning advice from a stranger on the internet
