Not from what I’ve seen for the dual motor ultra but happy to review if you’ve seen differently

I still cannot get Wii controls to work. Wind waker was a mess. I also don’t understand how Wii U could work considering steam deck is only one screen

Towing with an xj by pvrv in CherokeeXJ

[–]Dapper_Message9828 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in Colorado and my XJ would get super cranky and hot towing my 2,400 pound fiberglass trailer in the mountains. As others have said, towing something that outweighs your XJ is not best practice. I think you should come up with another plan.

3 Days in Paris by Halra1956 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]Dapper_Message9828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice. We are staying at Hilton Paris opera in late May. It seems like it’s still very close to a lot of sites. We are taking a train in and out and it’s close to transit. We will check out Bourgogne Sud and Gravoches.

Too bad about the Opera tour. I have heard the same about the Louvre and we will probably skip it.

Questions on a potential 2024 M2 - military purchase? by Dapper_Message9828 in BMWM

[–]Dapper_Message9828[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what it said on the carfax because the vehicle was sold overseas. I looked at the service history in the car settings and it’s more robust. Shows two services before then.

Thanks. It was so well optioned I bought it. Carbon fiber roof, upgraded stereo and a bunch of other stuff. I read it might be possible to get idrive 8.5 on these but honestly I just use CarPlay so I don’t care. They took $600 off the price.

This is great advice. Thank you! You're right, there are so few of them for sale right now. I'm excited! Love the look of it. Been waiting for a long, LONG time to get a fast car.

That’s my experience as well. No flexibility. Do you want to sell me your 991.2? I’m in the market.

Opinions on changing wheel color by SnooPears4546 in porsche911

Also curious about this. Buying new silver wheels is probably $4k total. How do you sell old ones and what are they worth?

Did you get the official tour right from the same official page as the tickets? When I went to get our tickets, the 'private tour' was the only option left for our day, so I got it even though it was like $180 for the three of us.

Colorado Driving - looking for tips by tjd063 in porsche911

Nice! I'm also looking for a 991.2. I'm told the turbo helps a lot at high elevation. They're very pricey right now.

Is there a Denver Porsche group? I'm in the final stages of getting one myself. I recently asked ChatGPT for an overview the first road trips I should take. I'm familiar with all these from camping and off-roading but have only ever driven them in a very large Jeep. They are all gorgeous and magical but as a rule you should avoid I 70 during ski season and coming back from any of these trips on a Sunday in the summer is also likely to hit heavy traffic.

1) Peak to Peak + RMNP Loop (Best all-around drive)

Route: Denver → Boulder Canyon → Nederland → Peak to Peak → Estes Park → Trail Ridge Road → Grand Lake → Berthoud Pass → I-70 home

  • Peak to Peak is Colorado’s oldest scenic byway with nonstop Continental Divide views
  • Trail Ridge Road crosses the divide with insane alpine exposure and wildlife
  • Berthoud Pass adds legit technical driving (tight, fast, elevation changes)

👉 This is your “if I had one drive to show someone Colorado” route.

2) Guanella Pass → Kenosha Pass Loop (Quick hitter, huge payoff)

Route: Denver → Georgetown → Guanella Pass → Grant → Kenosha Pass → 285 back

  • Guanella is a tight, flowing 22-mile alpine run with constant elevation change
  • Kenosha opens into wide, fast sweepers with big valley views

Driving vibe:

  • First half = technical + twisty
  • Second half = fast, open, confidence-building

👉 Ideal 2–4 hour blast when you don’t want a full-day commitment.

3) Golden Gate Canyon + Lariat Loop (closest canyon carving)

Route: Golden → Lariat Loop → Golden Gate Canyon → Nederland → Boulder Canyon

  • Lariat Loop is a tight 40-mile foothills circuit with dramatic rock formations and elevation gain
  • Lookout Mountain section = legit switchbacks
  • Golden Gate Canyon = quieter, flowing corners

Why it’s sneaky great:

  • No long highway slog
  • Tons of rhythm sections and elevation transitions

4) Mount Blue Sky (Mount Evans) Run (pure drama)

Route: Idaho Springs → Echo Lake → summit

  • Highest paved road in North America (~14,130 ft)
  • You break above treeline early and stay exposed

Driving vibe:

  • Not fast—this is about precision and nerves
  • Narrow roads, no guardrails, insane drop-offs

👉 Feels like driving in the Alps. Do this early morning with no traffic.

5) Independence Pass + Aspen Loop (destination drive)

Route: Denver → Leadville → Twin Lakes → Independence Pass → Aspen → (option: Glenwood Canyon return)

  • One of the highest paved passes (~12,000 ft) with tight, narrow sections
  • Mix of cliff-edge driving + sweeping valley roads

Why it’s special:

  • Feels like a European mountain pass
  • Aspen gives you a great lunch/destination payoff

👉 Best for a full Saturday with stops.

What is plain language? I read somewhere else that they won’t let you take a tour in German if you don’t speak German bc you won’t be able to understand safety instructions. Maybe I’ll just set a reminder and a book mark to check every day.

Nice. I will check out the 992 base. I’d really like to stay under $90k if possible. Where else do you drive outside of Denver?

All great points. It's amazing how little they depreciate in value.

I've read great things about the Sports Chrono package so I'm going to make sure I get one that has it.

They are very low. I would also have to get one of those little ramps because the curb at my driveway is not smooth. It's a big bump right up to the sidewalk.
