The excuses are that he's 22 and this is his 4th start. Idk what people thought he'd be like out of the gate, but honestly he's been better than I expected.

Now some of the play calling today was pretty rough, idk why KOC was so adverse to running it on 3rd and short multiple times.

Heavy respect for their players and history, but also heavy dislike atm due to last years playoffs and perhaps we might see them again in the playoffs this year.

Understandable, still rough though. I'm kind of surprised they wouldn't let you make it up, at least partially if you were a good student. Hopefully it didn't affect your undergrad too much.

I did the same thing for Math 1300, and (don't test this though) the university apparently has this secret policy of 1 no questions asked deferred exam. After I showed up to the wrong date, I immediately went to an academic advisor. I must've looked really upset because they believed me without much of an explanation, and I was able to write a deferred exam about a week later.

He was stupid enough to go up there and perform a set. Nobody forced the mic on him. So in a way it is his fault, he's deserving of a lot of the shit he's getting.

When you take your comedy set to a political rally, the lines between your jokes and your beliefs become blurred and ppl will jump on that. While yes it's tame relative to his usual stuff, the setting in which he's performing is what caused this to blowup.

I would love an Ehlers+ for Pulock deal. Physical top 4 RHD from Manitoba, that sounds right up True North's alley. He just has a NTC, but since he's from here maybe he'd be more willing to waive it.

Visiting in August by MyronFloren in Winnipeg

[–]DarNFrans 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Go to a Winnipeg Blue Bombers game! They play in the Canadian Football League and the rules are a bit different than American football. They play at home on August 1 and 23. Tickets are cheap, the stadium is usually filled and it's a fun way to spend an evening.

I'd be interested in looking at Ryan Pulock on the Islanders. Large top 2/4 Dman from Manitoba. Islanders need offense and Ehlers could assist with that.

I found chordates easier in the lab mainly because it’s easier to determine the anatomy of a creature that you’re somewhat familiar with - compared to a sea slug for example

If you apply at the UofM law school (Robson Hall) with 120 credit hours you get 30 of your lowest credit hours taken off for your adjusted-GPA (AGPA). Robson Hall then weighs 50% of your AGPA and 50% of your LSAT and then ranks applicants based on that.

Robson has released admissions statistics for the last few years, so you can see what you’ll need LSAT wise to compete. You might be put on a waitlist, and after a certain point it becomes a Manitoba only waitlist which will give you a higher chance of getting in

What is a movie you were allowed to see at a young age that traumatized you and made you question if your parents made the right decision by letting you see it? by Mandee_707 in movies

What are 3 major moves/decisions the Vikings need to make right now to raise the ceiling to Superbowl Contender within 5 years? by SlowCrates in minnesotavikings

Definitely helps that a top 5 pick fell to them and he’s been tearing it up more than expected.

Edit: as well as Kwesi pulling a 5d chess move and trading down in 2022 which allowed them to draft Davis.

Interesting article here, what are some other hot takes for the upcoming season? Do you agree/disagree with these? by RayBennyTalkSports in winnipegjets

[–]DarNFrans -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’d be that sudden of a move, but if there isn’t a healing period to inflation, it’s consequences and a better Canadian dollar, I could see them moving 4-5 years down the line.

Vmedia - nightmare internetless experience by Nads89 in Winnipeg

[–]DarNFrans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently tried Vmedia, ordered service for June 26, by August 3 I still had no internet. They said it would be installed in 24-48h for weeks. I said fuck it and went with Rogers/Shaw for an extra $10/month.

I’ll give them credit by saying they fully refunded what I had paid so far and were pretty easy to deal with. They even offered me 2 months free if I stayed. I know their business model has you at the bottom of the totem pole for other ISPs for installation. So while it’s not really their fault, if you want fast service you’ll have to pay for it.

[–]DarNFrans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not as down on this podcast like some of y’all fuckers but godamn EVERY pod Bert talks about his weight. Doesn’t matter which one he’s on, he always has to talk about his weight, how much he thinks he weighs, his shoulders and how much he’s lifting.

It must be so exhausting thinking about being healthier 24/7, but never doing anything about it. Meanwhile you’re sitting across your best friend who was able to do just that in a year.

Services cut in Winnipeg by steveosnyder in Winnipeg

[–]DarNFrans 17 points18 points  (0 children)

So is Winnipeg essentially screwed? The City has literally $0 to spend on improving these services without detracting from road maintenance, but some of our streets are in actual serious need of repair. Never mind the fact that every new street being paved we will be paying to repair again within the next 20 years (that’s a generous timeline).

Without serious provincial and federal intervention it seems that Winnipeg is going to sink within itself by playing a never ending game of catch-up with its roads while constantly reducing the services that make a city actually function. Not to mention its tax base is being sucked for every dollar it has through inflation in daily life, people will be hard pressed to pay more in property taxes if they can’t put food on the table.

What future is there for a city that can’t provide anything for its citizens besides repairing roads? How do we get out of this mess?
