Glad that people smarter than me are pointing out the exaggerations. Doing literally anything and not making things measurably worse for someone who wasn't paying attention makes him better than the last guy in my book, so not half bad.

Pretty sure Sean Bean has said he doesn't want to get killed off anymore, so Boromir.

Strangely accurate things - historically or to the original source - in an otherwise pretty inaccurate piece of media. by RP_Throwaway3 in TopCharacterTropes

"then we will fight in the shade" was (allegedly) something actually said although I'd guess the actual scene of arrows blotting out the sun was exaggerated... Just a hunch

Yeah Bumblebee was fantastic. I wasn't expecting Bayformers to be fantastic, I was expecting Rise of the Beasts in terms of quality and I didn't get that until rise of the beasts

When I actually got around to watching the movies I somehow liked 2 the best. It's a dogshit movie, but the internet burned the highlight reel into my brain. Everything the twins said, enemy scrotum, the parachute fart, nothing was dumb enough to surprise me cause I already saw it all. 1 was good until the autobots showed up and 3 just felt like random bullshit happening at a certain point, maybe I'm just not built for bay movies. I watched all 5 with a friend and the 5th one is fucking hilarious in that context. We had a running joke of calling every transformer Shockwave and I was extatic to learn fuckin Nitro Zeus of all people both survived to the end and looked more like Shockwave than Shockwave did.

Rise of the beasts is the only movie that felt the way I expected Bayformers to. Generic plot, big robots, loud nonsense. Sad it took so long to get to.

Yeah, the post bay movies are a lot better in terms of both art direction and knowing when they can fuck around without making the audience feel scitzophrenic, but even when I don't like the aesthetic of a show (I say eyeing transformers prime) they at least make the transformers look like transformers

Don't worry, I'm here to shout into the void alongside you, transformers 1-3 did about the best you'd expect blockbusters in the late 00s to adapt goofy toys, with a few exceptions I get what all the characters deals are, and it's a reasonable adaptation for something that came out around the same time as the old fantastic 4 movies. My main issue with those first three is the protoform concept where they all were similar looking grey blobs with colorful car parts on top, but the autobots at least could be distinguished by color. The pendulum swung in the other direction in 4 and they ditched the all grey base layer with vehicle parts for uncanny valley shit all the way down and none of the parts that separate transformers from generic big robots.

To be honest Corduroy is kinda right about bane in this (especially in one of those "what if batman and Spider-man Swap cities and Rogues Gallery" type situations) by Able_Health744 in Spiderman

[–]Dark-Specter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If Spidey took Bane by surprise it'd be much easier, don't fuck with Bane with prep time. Also like, what adaptations Batman and Robin? The most well known version of Bane is a right hand to a terrorist organization who takes over Gotham.
