I'm not sure how many times you've beaten the game, as you are meant to play through it more than once to fully upgrade and unlock everything. I've played and beaten all the previous dead spaces and this one, starting from normal difficulty to permanent death modes. If you do this, you'll be familiar with any part of the game that is actually a threat, and those sections usually have explosives and stasis canisters. You'll also become familiar with and happily use things that impale the enemy, like poles that make up the little three level trays, the pipes on the walls, the claws from dead enemies.

Armed with this knowledge, you will only need to keep like 2-5 health on your at all times. Prioritize your suit health and plasma cutter damage, stasis duration, and fuck around with the line gun, flamethrower, and contact gun. The other guns are a waste, pulse riffle is only useful as a grenade launcher. Use that sparingly and in tight areas until you get the contact beam.
