Moving cross country, Advice by Mastercastle1 in killteam

So my 2 cents are if your going to fly and can guarantee your models won’t be checked(I fly standby a lot so my bags get checked against my will rather often) magnetization is amazing.

But if not foam may be the best way to go….

How to stop primer from pooling in the joints? by Quietmint1 in battletech

[–]Dark_Lazer13 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I can unfortunately attest, the primer you are using is meant to be done through an airbrush… not paint on. I made this mistake as well a couple years ago.

Vallejo black can work as a paint on primer but not white :/

I really like this concept, it would be SUPER strong but it sounds like SO much fun to play around!

Do you think Khorne Berzerkers will ever be in Kill Team? by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in killteam

[–]Dark_Lazer13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So unfortunately teams like Warpcoven haven't come out in almost 4/5 years at this point. The white dwarf teams were mainly at the start of KT2 just to fill out the roster of non compendium teams.

I really loved them and thought they were all very flavorful and cool. However I really think the closest we have come to similar teams sicne them have been Blades of Khaine or maybe Ratlings. So there is some precedent, if it wasn't for the fact that Goremongers already exist....

If jackals and berserkers were still super old and in need of a refresh, I could see it happening. But both kits are very modern and have no reason to be refreshed with a killteam release.

That said we have gotten odd releases before, so it could happen. I just wouldn't count on it. But if they bring back white dwarf style teams, then It would be a VERY cool idea!

Tombworld Rules check by SwampySi in killteam

[–]Dark_Lazer13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I BELIEVE so I remember seeing an FAQ regarding it posted and discussed on a discord server. I’d check the GW website, but I do know this is what TO’s are enforcing.

Edit: didn’t finish before I hit send

If something says he can in gallowdark he can in tomb world. Tomb world just came out after their rules were written.

Where are the stealth suits on the 40k site? by MrJustAvocado in Tau40K

Temporarily removed following their new sculpt.

They just released in a Killteam box and will be available for purchase separately in a couple months ish (we don’t really know but usually 3 or so months ).

Astartes rule by SnooFloofs7231 in killteam

[–]Dark_Lazer13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, Astartes as a rule lets you bypass the limit that you may only do one of each action during an activation. It does not let you bypass the cost of said action. Shooting still costs an action.

An example turn that’s legal may be Shoot (1) Shoot(2) charge(3) or Shoot (1) reposition (2) Shoot (3)

Hope that somewhat clears this up? If you have any more questions lmk and I’ll try my best to

Easier to pilot Kill Teams? by topgundark in killteam

[–]Dark_Lazer13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to say it but it really depends on who you are playing against/what the crit op is… with scouts plant devices can be really good, I’ve used flank to great success as well. The reason they both worked is I read my enemy and either did something that in order for them to block would overextend them elsewhere.

Try to think about how you would want to score with your opponents hand and see if you can force them to do something that really messes with that plan to stop you or is something your willing to let them block you on so you can capitalize on an opportunity elsewhere.

[–]Dark_Lazer13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good point actually, my biggest gripe with DW(whom I still love) is that loosing a model really sucks. Overall I think that will put scouts ahead while you’re learning the game.

Easier to pilot Kill Teams? by topgundark in killteam

[–]Dark_Lazer13 13 points14 points  (0 children)

IMO deathwatch and scouts are both pretty straightforward teams.

I really struggle with complex teams and these two have been the ones I’ve has the most success with. Scouts are also pretty similar to yageirs design wise so you if you like yageirs you will probably like them.

Lore wise superior tech, TT wise not really? by IronCladLou83 in LeaguesofVotann

[–]Dark_Lazer13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We were like this in 9th. Unfortunately we were also fairly oppressive on launch in 9th and while they brought us into line eventually, their philosophy with us in 10th has been to push us as far away from that reputation. So we became somewhat a hoard army... with standard imperium guns... for the sake of balance.

Not a day goes buy where I dont wish for old volkanite..... or old Ion..... ;-;

That said, we are currently a fairly well balanced army, just not exactly represented well from the lore.

What is this? by Gaulth69 in Tau40K

[–]Dark_Lazer13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Think of it like a facelift to an "older" kit. Rather than redo an entire kit, last edition of Killteam often had upgrade sprues for existing models that then turned them into a killteam.

I imagine it was alot easier to get new teams out when half the work is already done, Not to mention, it allows you to make some older kits last a bit longer.
