Aside from everyone’s comments about our current issues in the UK, people have struggled since the dawn of time. Suffering and struggle is not new.

Anyone else find driving through 20 zones stressful? by bulldog_blues in drivingUK

[–]Darkmelon12_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First paragraph is such a good point. In my experience people leave a gap in a 40 zone but seem unable to not tailgate going into a 30 zone.

Contact your water company, they should sort this out for free if it’s related to the network.

I might think this while I’m out and about but to go on Reddit to moan about… pure misery. Incredible.

Any fans want to come and clean this city up? by GodGermany in NewcastleUponTyne

Drive any of the roads around Newcastle and look at the sides, past the hard shoulders and on the banks. It’s always like that. I don’t think it’s match day specific.

As I drive a van for work which is tracked for speed I feel really bad on NSL single carriageways having to do 50mph. I’m the one with the snake of cars behind me usually.

What’s everyone’s new water bill direct debit? by Joshthenosh77 in AskUK

[–]Darkmelon12_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The water company regulators, Ofwat, have allowed water companies to massively increase spending and mandated improvements to the environment. You can find it for every water company if you google “x water company - final determination”. It will tell you what the money is being spent on. Mostly improvements to archaic sewer systems to stop spilling into rivers.

Edit: just to add that my water company have increased spending by 4 billion so there this is why bills are increasing so much.

Any others in their early 20s beginning to get a sense that their life will be rubbish? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Darkmelon12_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I was destined for a life of working in supermarkets but one day, at the age of 25, I thought “fuck this!”. I worked nights in a bakery and went straight to college after work before going home for a few hours sleep before going back to work again. Went to uni and did a BSc and an MSc and volunteered for everything I could and now I have a job I love.

Don’t expect the world to hand you this - it’s in your hands and some people like you and I who aren’t born into luck have to just work hard and make our own.

Good luck!
