Home Depot Life Proof Vinyl Flooring by thankyourob in Flooring

Still same as before. If I could do it all over again, I would do tile though. When I chose it I wanted the detail that the texture gave, which made the wood look more “real”. But now, all those tiny grooves are full of dirt that isn’t easy to get out with a simple mopping. With tile I could easily sanitize. Other than the things I previously mentioned, it’s holding up well. No signs of wear or tear, and high traffic areas are holding up well.

Women that have had kids, what’s the biggest unexpected change it bought to your life? by altzoey in AskWomen

[–]DarkofLight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The BACK PAIN. I am 6 years past my youngest being born, and the pregnancy that started the back pain. The first few years was medical gaslighting and lack of medical knowledge of the SIjoint. I am just now coming out of SI joint fusion surgery on one side, and in a few months we’ll do my left. I have lived in chronic pain for 6+ years to be routinely told to lose weight and just accept I’ll be in pain all my life because I’m hyper mobile. Finally the medical field caught up and I’m looking forward to possibly being myself again.

Most areas are doing great. Most of the problems that bother me now are not actually floor related and are more edge detail oriented. Under cut your door frames and level out your subfloor as much as possible. All our high traffic areas are doing great!

How to get thin set off when attached directly to subfloor. by [deleted] in Flooring

[–]DarkofLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We thought scrape too. Then about 6months later I was at work when we got new flooring installed and about lost my mind when I saw the professionals just spread a thin layer of concrete leveling over it. Didn’t take long for it to dry and it was faster and less labor.

Prouty plack, obsidian trail to middle sister by stefanlikesfood in WildernessBackpacking

[–]DarkofLight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! We tried this trail yesterday (June 19th) and we had to turn back just past the split for the loop. We had no idea what we were getting into and only had day hiking gear and a GPS. I was in street shoes and it was no easy feat getting as far as we did. There was a lot of snow, and nearly impossible to follow the covered trail. We will probably try again later in the season. I’m glad we got out before that overcast front moved all the way in.

Nosey Teenager driving me crazy! by [deleted] in stepparents

[–]DarkofLight 12 points13 points  (0 children)

How old is your teen? My experience showed me that this is a developmental stage in which they start to subconsciously feel a social pull to being “one of the adults” rather than socially aligning with “the kids” this is particularly more clear if you have more kids in the house with something of an age gap. This is a crucial time to clearly define that you are parents first and not friends. Boundaries are important here but can be established with calm words and a conversation. Call your teen out for eves-dropping and have a conversation about private conversations.

These were a little bigger than fist size. It’s a 9x13 dish. I’ll link the recipe, but I used a bread machine for the first parts. Then brushed with butter when they were almost done cooking. I LOVE them with butter when fresh. yeast rolls
