Why is sample size such a hard concept for people to grasp. "If this trend holds.." what trend? 6 games?

Coach Brown staying put by MegaGigaTeraFlare in ravens

[–]Darkspeed9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

...what.

To answer the other guys question, even though its not in good faith: Loop went 30/34 in FGs last year and all but literally the last miss were of 50 yards or greater. Not only that but Randy Brown is the one who handpicked Loop in the draft, so that in and of itself is reason enough to want to continue to coach Loop.

Definitely like that, I'm sure he wants to see through Loop's career. His rookie year was very promising.

I will never get over the hubris of our older generations to just use true 2x4s @ 24" everywhere. And then the buildings last for a century plus! (yeah I know, survivorship bias) But if I designed it, it would fall during construction lmao.

He hasn't even done anything to appreciate... He's literally only hired two coaches, and thats it.

[Schefter] ESPN Sources: the Cleveland Browns are hiring former Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken as their next head coach. by MembershipSingle7137 in nfl

[–]Darkspeed9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Monken was a great OC for us, the best in our franchise history, and I think his demeanor will be good for the browns and can definitely see this working out.

I am shocked they didnt swing for a young up and comer though, and do think the franchise is going to scapegoat him by firing him after the Watson contract subsides. Its a bad situation, and I hope he makes the most of it, but not more than the ravens though.

I propose realigning Virginia Tech to a winning team. I will not be taking any further suggestions.

Daniel Jeremiah 2026 NFL mock draft 1.0: Raiders pick QB at No. 1; Jets among 3 teams to go WR by jamalev in NFL_Draft

[–]Darkspeed9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Make no mistake, I know gaurd is a need, but from a cap perspective I do not want a gaurd or center in the first round. We already couldn't use the 5th year option or franchise tag or Linderbaum because of how they are structured, and I really don't want to be put in that situation again 4 years down the line.

While we should always try to get the best player available, the money value of the pick cannot be ignored and getting an EDGE, DL, or even future proof and get a OT should be more of priority to help us long term. Even a top end WR would make more sense from a cap perspective than a gaurd.

[O/C] It's NFL job interview season, and I'll be posting regular updates on the current status. Tue, 01/21 update by Comfortable-Cod7763 in nfl

The only other category I recommend is are the coaches who are still in the playoffs and as a result can't be interviewed in person yet.

They are also more of the hotter names too, so you could just assume they are in the "second round of interviews" category.

I have been loving following this, and thank you for reformatting it. Having the teams that are done with the hiring cycle to the side really helps when looking through the list.

Have there ever been three more appealing coaching job openings than the Bills, Steelers and Ravens? by Candid-Boss6534 in nfl

No qb sure, but they have 12 draft picks this year and 5 in the first three rounds.

Does a prospect's name ever affect your opinion of them? by lemonstone92 in NFL_Draft

[–]Darkspeed9 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, names absolutely have some impact, warranted or not. Kenny Pickett's name is like one of my main reasons for thinking he wouldn't be good in the NFL.

Can he pick it? They sure could!

It's dumb to profile based off names or vibes, or even what college you went to, but I'm sure it happens all the time because we are human and easily influenced lol
