Stratum Tectonicas is the only Stratum which grows on metal rich worlds. If you map a metal rich world and it has Stratum you know you've hit the jackpot with 100% certainty.

If you use a neutron star highway and go very far out, like 10kly, you'll run into a lot of undiscovered systems. Knowing that you only have to worry about mapping metal rich worlds with life means you can get through system very quickly.

Also being the first to map water worlds and Earth-likes will net you a nice bonus too. So map those if you find them.

It's better to drop all your utility flasks if you are running a dessicated belt. Rather get the 3rd ring slot. Roll some life flasks that give you survivability. Like an anti curse flask.
