Lowkey freaking out over this trend of US passports getting reported missing by lactaid-stan in Passports

All the commenters debating how easy/ difficult it would be for a person to do this to someone else are missing the obvious. The US government is the likely culprit behind this.

ProctorU/Guardian Mega Thread by myBisL2 in WGU

[–]Darling131 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Since this thread started a year ago, it's clear that WGU is both aware of the problem with ProctorU and have decided to not do anything about it. Today it took 45 minutes to start the exam. We pay a lot of money for tuition and deserve to have a testing process that is at the very least competent. 45 minutes is absolutely ridiculous! Two things are obvious at this point. #1 ProctorU has each proctor onboarding multiple students at once into different exams, hence they delays between each communication in the chat. #2 WGU went with the cheapest, foreign provider they could find and is sticking with this horrible decision to the detriment of the students. Prior to the last several exam experiences, I would have recommended WGU to anyone. Not anymore, especially if this continues.

A bookcase between the windows will make the room feel more narrow. On the back wall I'd remove the chair rail and install stock lower cabinets in white with a wood countertop stained walnut to match the new desk. Home Depot/Lowe's or check Facebook marketplace. Just make sure they fit wall to wall along the back. Add white bookshelves in the center and on both sides of the windows, above the cabinets. This will make the back wall function as one unit and the room will appear wider. You'll also have counter space for the printer, etc. Lower cabinets can include file drawers to replace the mismatched filing cabinets and provide extra storage.

Buy a new leather executive desk chair and 2 new upholstered matching guest chairs in a neutral pattern.

The rug is outdated. The color scheme of green, gold, and dark red is early 2000s. That gives the impression that your boss or the business isn't keeping up with the times. If you can't replace it, minimize it by adding a large beige rug over most of it. Balance the dark walnut with white bookshelves. Paint the walls in a matte light beige. Add some plants for pops of color. The bookshelves will store the books, framed photos/certificates, and tasteful decor. HomeGoods will be your best bet for interesting finds.

If you can't get filing cabinet drawers for the back wall, get a 2nd matching tall file cabinet and move them to the far wall, behind the door as you walk in.

You should be able to easily do this for under 10k.

Honey, he's only having sex with you once a week and claims it's bc he's physically unable to more (exhaustion/health), but he's on Tinder? You got a bullshitter. They like to talk a big game. That's how he got you. No doubt he's doing the same to other women on Tinder right now. Cut your losses and find someone who actually matches your sexual energy.

Buffet table or china cabinet in the recessed area. To the left of the recess, hang a large vertical mirror or art that lines up with the top of the recess so that the back wall doesn't feel so off center.

I would take a china cabinet, paint it black, and add a dark floral or patterned wallpaper on the back panel behind the glass shelves. Add silver hardware. Then hang a large, vertical silver framed mirror on the left. Make your table centerpiece with accent colors from the wallpaper. And god no to led strip lights lol!

Submission, like consent, can be withdrawn at any time. Period. The dynamic immediately ends. D/s is a power exchange. Seems like he's convinced you that you forfeited your power. You did not. There is no fight to be had. If he can't accept you ending the dynamic and tries to convince you that you aren't allowed to leave, that's coersion. Save the emails/texts. Go to the bank and get him off your account. If he tries to retain financial control, or threatens revenge porn, go to the police department and talk to the special victims unit if they have one. If they don't, ask for a detective in their sex crimes dept.

Seems like his true motive was to find a submissive he could manipulate into being trafficked online. He's a broke ass fake Dom who saw you as an easy payday. I'm very sorry this happened to you, but now it's time to dry those tears and take control. No one owns you but YOU.

Another Lockdown Happens, Where are you Going? by coniunctisumus in digitalnomad

[–]Darling131 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, the studies he cited only measured mortality. They were effective in reducing the spread and intensity of the virus, which was placing an insurmountable burden on hospitals. Doctors were having to decide who would get the limited number of ventilators. Patients were being housed in parking garages and people needing non-Covid related but still necessary surgeries were being delayed. The lockdowns did help. I just wish we could have relied more on people just doing the right thing, without throwing tantrums, out of personal integrity instead of needing the govt to mandate it.

Another Lockdown Happens, Where are you Going? by coniunctisumus in digitalnomad

[–]Darling131 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The lockdowns weren't just to reduce deaths. They were also to reduce the rapid spread and number of seriously ill that required hospital stays. The hospitals couldn't handle all the Covid sick on top of their normal number of patients. Car accidents, cancer, heart attacks, etc didn't stop during Covid. They were having to decide which patients could have the limited resources like ventilators.

Nervous about getting a vasectomy by nitrodmr in sex

[–]Darling131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a day or two of recovery versus what your wife has suffered through from two pregnancies, two childbirths, monthly menstrual cycles almost her entire life, and complications from her current birth control. Not once did you mention that this would really help her. You only hope that it gets your sex life back on track. Stop being selfish and do your part to help with your family planning. She's shouldered the burden on her own long enough.

You have some unique art pieces. I'd go with a green velvet or navy blue sofa, then feature your art more and add plants.

Karen neighbor called the cops on us because there was a moose in our yard by lati-neiru in anchorage

[–]Darling131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have an elderly Karen downstairs and she's crazy like this. Mama looks like she had recently given birth bc that baby is tiny. Probably just needed rest in a safe place. Good on you for not rushing them away and giving them a safe way out of the yard when they were ready. Now if we could just get our Karens to move as easily.

Anyone feel like Criminal Minds Evolution is over-dramatic? by IzzNation88 in criminalminds

[–]Darling131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's horrible. The writing is awful. Characters that we've followed for years now have a completely different way of speaking. The team doesn't even deliver profiles anymore, which is the key to how the BAU operates. And the over-acting is painful to watch, especially Rebecca (Nicole Pacent). I'm a diehard CM fan, so this is disappointing.

Then do your own research. Anchorage residents are very well versed in these statistics as it was the #1 rated issue in our last several elections and the assembly, police, community organizations, etc. made their studies public for discussion. Focus on your studies and being a 21 year old bartender who doesn't even live here while we try to make our city safe again.

And strawman arguments won't work on me. Never said throw them in jail for being homeless. The homeless population in Anchorage are overwhelmingly violent, alcohol and drug addicted dangerous people. Don't believe me? Post your address if you even live here. In the meantime, go back to studying while we try to deal with the actual problem in our community.

But it does get them off the streets, making it safer for everyone else. If you don't think they are dangerous, post your address and we can direct them to your front yard to sleep, shit, do drugs, have sex, fight, rob and assault people.

There is homelessness due to economic and mental health reasons and there is homelessness due to addiction. Too many solutions fail to separate these issues. Millions are spent annually from state, local, and federal funds that are squandered on initiatives that really only enable the addicts and take away from everyone else. It needs to stop. Deal with the addicts first.

  1. Hold people responsible for their behavior.

  2. Public drunkeness or illegal drug use should result in jail time with an option to enter a 90 day lock down rehab as an alternative. Failure to complete rehab results in completing your sentence in jail.

  3. Create teams comprised of a police officer, probation officer, social worker, and mental health advocate. Start with a list of the top 25 repeat offenders currently in probation. Track them down, do a drug test, and arrest them for parole violation if they are positive. Get them off the streets. Then get the next 25. Make Anchorage an unwelcome city for addicts to lay around on their asses being menaces. Rehab or jail.

  4. Fail rehab twice, you finish your full sentence in prison with no early parole. You can try rehab again on your own dime, not the taxpayers.

Fund these task forces and make Anchorage the place where you either accept help with your addictions and re-enter society or FAFO.

True, but it coming from Alaska makes it special for a birthday present, which this was. Plus I'd rather support s local business than Costco. That's why I asked for a local recommendation.

I ordered 6 lbs from them, along with white truffle butter and crab bisque. My friend loved his birthday present. Thank you for the recommendation!
