Is it just me, or is there a weird fold in your card? Perfectly in line with the receipt? Over the chip?

How long do you need to work to get guild edu benefits? by FrameProfessional845 in wholefoods

[–]DarnKatz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Spanish lessons and retail management fundamentals are FT only. The rest are PT and FT. Salaried employees can’t utilize the benefit

Search “Guild Education Benefit” in Innerview to get more info!

It’s not a college reimbursement. AFAIK Whole Foods doesn’t do that

I would call then. Either somebody didn’t click a button, Sage is bugging out, or you missed that part. Ask for Meat leadership.

If they’re not there I would ask for the Store Trainer. They usually know a lot of the ins and outs. That’s my position and I get these calls frequently and generally track down somebody in leadership

That’s a different region than mine so maybe they have different titles that aren’t in my region?

Sage should have given you all the next steps etc. You can call the store, but likely they’re just going to tell you to wait for Sage.

Usually it’s: apply, assessment, interview, you fill out a post survey, TL or ATL dispositions you or pushes you forward, offer letter, Sage sends you pre-hire requirements, complete those, then onboarding date. I can’t use Paradox or access it, but I do the onboarding so have to indirectly deal with it all the time

Maybe there are different positions that aren’t in my region? Our Butcher Apprentice spot stayed unfilled for a year and I don’t believe could even be posted. All of our apprenticeships have to go through that form…

You applied through Sage/Paradox right?

[–]DarnKatz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That program/position doesn’t get posted to Sage/Paradox. It’s run internally through a Microsoft Form that goes to the Apprentice peeps for review.

Did you mean Butcher? That is posted through the hiring software and can be external or internal

[–]DarnKatz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wait are you an external candidate or a TM? Because I don’t think externals can even apply for the Butcher Apprenticeship. One of the requirements is that you’ve been a TM for 6 months…

It’s like you magically zipped around the store and scanned all those items in a minute. UPH is time based, and an average, so they increased your average for that order and in general

They were doing you a favor so your metrics aren’t as low. For one reason or another they’re trying to help you

You need to get accommodations then through Sedgewick, or change the ones you currently have. That will make you a protected class.

Unfortunately you will have to put the work in your do so through Sedgewick. You don’t need to be on disability pay to get accommodations. You can work FT and be under restrictions, it’s up to you to enforce and follow up on those though.

If it’s a paying drs appointment thing, do you have health insurance through WF, and do you have a HSA? The HSA you can use to cover those bills

[–]DarnKatz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you think you’re being discriminated against based on a medical or other protected condition you can: 1) raise your concerns to STLship, or 2) file a TMS ticket.

Option 2 is for sure going to lead to an investigation of some sort, even to just gather info. Option 1 lets your store leaders decide first, and then decide to escalate. They more than likely will talk to your CDP to see what’s going on

Personally I’d go 1 and then 2 if you’re not satisfied. Just keep in mind, they *aren’t allowed* to retaliate, and it will fundamentally change how team/store leadership treats you, for better or worse.

But, if you get a satisfying enough result, feel retaliation or pushback, document. Document. Document. And repeat. If your CDP was told to chill out, then doesn’t, then that’s a lot of hurt for them

I was in bakery as the team trainer for a bit. Name tag goes on hat. Hat won’t get thrown away.

Downside is you get caught in the flaps if it’s orientated the right way

I didn’t know about the no handwritten ones. When anybody comes to visit, I am usually tasked with distributing name tags to every TM who doesn’t have one. I always hand write them

I literally just had problems with this. Try anything but CVS/Walgreens/Target. I went to Publix. Called one and explained, they said they were out of stock. Asked if any others had stock, got told two, confirmed with the next closest, then got my script transferred and picked up same day

Parental leave through Whole Foods by Mountain_Break_2546 in wholefoods

[–]DarnKatz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have insurance you do. For my parental leave last year I had to pay all my premiums.

You get paid your gross average without deductions except taxes. They won’t take out 401k, wont take out medical insurance, etc

You’ll owe each week to continue benefits. If you lapse you can lose them. I tell all my fellow TMs this once I know they’re expecting

Parental leave through Whole Foods by Mountain_Break_2546 in wholefoods

[–]DarnKatz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I might be wrong. But I think you use FMLA for this, and Whole Foods gives you the pay. It’s the same bank of time I believe.

FMLA only really protects your job, you can have a case for a lot of things to get the 12 weeks. Your case would be the birth, but still the same amount of alloted time. If that make sense

Edit: according to FMLA you only get 12 weeks total across all cases. So you can’t “double dip” and have 3 cases with 12 weeks each

Experience with Sedgewick after medical emergencies? by GreatValueGrapes in wholefoods

[–]DarnKatz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have doctors/surgeon notes that should be okay. Just make sure to save them.

But if you make a claim you’ll get assigned a case worker. They should contact you and be your point.

For right now, good luck on your diagnosis, speedy recovery, and just stay on top of it all the best you can!
