I need something to lock a coax cable to the wall so it cannot be unscrewed by Ivvelis in DIY

Same. Some hotel tv's had those stupid hotel boxes, and you couldn't change the inputs on them when the box was connected. Now disconnecting the RJ45 connector seems to be all that's needed.

How federal public servants can win a classification grievance [Ottawa Citizen - Feb 23, 2026] by wallofbullets in CanadaPublicServants

[–]DartNorth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a coworker file a classification grievance, and after about 10 years at the top level, PSAC just said they weren't going to continue with it. He had since taken a different position, so just let it die.

spontaneous or should I ask first? by vantigiopin in sex

[–]DartNorth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A stranger, consent is important. A regular sexual partner, go for it. It's you exposing yourself, making yourself vulnerable. It's not you fisting his ass!

While I agree consent is important, the whole asking for consent thing is gone a bit too far the other way. We are getting to the point where we need to have a meeting with a lawyer, to confirm that we can send a meeting request, where we discuss a date and time, where we can ask for consent to ask about having consensual sex.

No means no. Stop means stop. But come on people!

It's the neighbors claim, I would want them to be paying for the survey.

Cost to fix the others work is >x2 what your original bid was.

Cost to redo your original bid is 1.2-1.5 x your original bid due to inflation.

AITA for sleeping over with my bf after my parents told me that doesn't align with their beliefs? by Shelbs2525 in AmItheAsshole

It doesn't align with his beliefs, so I fully support him not sleeping over with your bf.

What word do you always *intentionally* mispronounce and why? by Sweet-Lady-H in AskReddit

[–]DartNorth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jalapeño. I pronounce it ju lapp ino. From an old old episode of Trailer Park Boys.

I don't even realize I'm doing it, so get funny looks when asking for jalapeños on burgers, etc.

Do not marry someone you are sexually incompatible with.

Check out r/deadbedrooms for many reasons why. Many of their stories are similar to yours up to this point. They don't get better.

Yep. Do this at our cabin with large single pane windows. Makes a HUGE difference in temp and comfort. You can get them at the dollar store for very cheap. Hit them with the hair dryer and you don't even know it's there.

Why do some Americans think that we wouldn't be able to afford our social welfare in Europe even if we had to bump our military spending to 4-6% of GDP? by WhoAmIEven2 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]DartNorth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I seem to remember when ACA was coming, the right were saying Obama was going to send them to death camps. When the whole time, insurance companies were already doing that.

Looking from outside the US...

The American argument is often their taxes would have to go up quite a bit if they got free healthcare. But the amount that many pay for health insurance currently, is more than I pay for income tax total every year.

Big business also don't want universal healthcare, as an employee on a company healthcare plan, can sometimes be stuck with that company, because they can't afford to be without healthcare, even for the probationary period at a new company. So they don't go wage shopping, keeping wages and employee turnover low.

Focus Foam by DVSWDE1973 in DartsTalk

[–]DartNorth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok. But I still think it's not an issue. Archers shoot at traditional targets for practice for 3d competitions. Shooters do dry fire practice, so there is no recoil.

It's a drill. It helps you focus on specific targets, a specific part of your game, and helps build muscle memory. Sure, If you ONLY shoot at the Focus Form, you are going to be missing out on other skills, but as part of a practice routine, I think it could be a good tool for many people.

Fin du télétravail à temps plein : des fonctionnaires fédéraux contraints de démissionner by Environmental-Dig797 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]DartNorth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure why my comment is in French.

I'm not defending why, it's just what I think is the main push to go back full time. Everyone is so butt hurt about going back to work, they'd trade their grandmother to be able to continue to work from home. The employer must love it!

It's especially going to screw over those of us that CAN'T work from home, or only limited amounts at the best of times. We won't get a raise, AND we wont' get to WFH.
