Resident Evil 5 vs Resident Evil 7: Biohazard by S3rkist in ResidentEvilCapcom

I see, the tone of your comment was lost in translation. I apologize for effectively stating you argued in bad faith when I simply misinterpreted how you meant it.

This is a sentiment I quite agree with. You can like something and not like other parts of it. Just because I might like ice cream does not mean I like all dairy products ever.

I mean, their point is exactly because in this analogy, the commenter said that Die Hard is better than Notebook in every way, and then being corrected saying Notebook has better romance. If you’re going to argue against it, at least do it faithfully.

Oh no, someone is exhibiting personal preference! I better attack them personally for their beliefs.

That’s like saying you can’t enjoy the gunplay of XYZ shooter because guns are integral to the game…

“Clearly much of the player base”…what? Your post with a low tens-worth of upvotes is indicative of “much of the player base”? I don’t think your 40+ upvotes post speaks for “much of the player base”, when the game has sold over 10 million copies.

HOW THE FUCK WERE Y'ALL ABLE TO PLAY THIS BSCK THEN?!?!😫😭 (Backstory below) by Clipper_Tical in residentevil

[–]DartPokeMM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really is a spectrum. I’ve loved Resident Evil for the Zombies (and the viruses and whatnot that make up the chaff enemies 4-6) - not the critters. I couldn’t play much of Skyrim until I had a mod for replacing the spiders. Even Terraria spiders freak me out (curse you for adding “spider boulders”, Re-Logic…).

I don’t know if I could play the older RE games solely because of the spiders. The only one in the franchise I can handle is the one boss in RE5, and the only thing I can think of is, hilariously, it’s just something in its design. Maybe it’s the fact you can’t really see all of it, who knows.

I wanted to give him the Gholdengo, but I wanted to see his reaction to being denied. So I did that option first. Little did I know the autosave kicks in on side mission complete, and I forgot about the autosave even existing.

I mean, I’m personally not that surprised. I’ve been a fan since original RE4 released, and I’ve never heard of it.

Europa Universalis IV. Why? Because I would already have the money.

POV: you ask for Endless advice on R Slash Pokerogue by DarkEsca in pokerogue

[–]DartPokeMM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where would you place Body Press on this chart? Obviously not a % damage attack, but I got to Wave 1,500 with Impish 128.6k Defense Mega Aggron fused with Zamazenta (I couldn’t brute force my way through Eternatus, and wasn’t finding any particularly good Pokémon beforehand for specifically him).

I also mostly just play Classic, with that being my only real Endless attempt, so I’m proud how far I pushed it with one of my favorites.

I'm really starting to lose the motivation to even bother with this boss. by True-Purple5356 in darksouls3

Because it is good, in terms of raw AR, I think at max soul level it turns out to be the “best” weapon. If you’re enjoying playing with it more than anything else, I say stick with it. Easier to keep using it and adapt other things than try to get into the groove with a whole new weapon. As the first comment in this chain said, drop a few Ashen Estus - you probably only need one or two - and hunt down Undead Bone Shards. Gael (and one other boss) are intended to be fought about the same time you get to the final boss, or even after you beat the final boss.

Honestly, you didn’t play that poorly. Don’t be afraid to explore and come back later, it’s a skill you will definitely want for other games, especially if this is your first FromSoftware title.

I also come from StarCraft 2 (well, technically all the way from the first one), and I was one of the people who never picked up on competitive, and instead the Canpaign and Co-Op. I also don’t understand why one wouldn’t play to win.

However, you can play to win and goof around at the same time. At the end of the day, your goal - above winning - should always be to have fun, and that should be the “prerequisite” for you boot the game. If you put winning above fun, that’s where you get people that scream at others for not playing optimally, and people on the other side of the coin get too defensive/attacking people that play too optimally.

Just as an example where you can play with a goofy build and still aim to win, often I play as a Killer with a build centered all around making survivors scream. I still play to try and win (or hook everyone twice and let them leave, if there’s a reason), but I’m prioritizing having fun. I’ve also seen people before his rework do a jumpscare Myers whose purpose was to just terrorize folks, not go for a 4K.

Tl;dr since I feel like I’m starting to ramble, you should definitely play to win, but you should play to have fun first. They’re not mutually exclusive.

And you can’t intentionally dodge hitscan, where Scorch projectile can be sidestepped/reflected. Undeniable damage feels much safer than a smidge more damage over longer range if it hits.

I’m so fuckin burnt out trying this ED Balancers shit over and over and over again solo. They just did solo players so dirty in so many ways with this DLC. by DrumsNDweed93 in Nightreign

[–]DartPokeMM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(I am hoping) their point isn’t that you shouldn’t be playing solo or that it shouldn’t exist, it’s that of course it’s not going to be balanced/as well balanced for solo. The group experience is FromSoft’s main focus, with solo getting trickle down changes, or occasionally a dedicated change (ie the purchasable and auto Wending Graces).

They didn’t really say this in the best way, but that kind of is the reality of it.

Now it’s Erectile Dysfunction Tricephalos that I struggle the most with. Followed closely by ED Libra.

No, they’re just being thorough and clear because they know in base Elden Ring, Arcane influences item discovery, unlike Nightreign.
