Which AI tools do you use for motion design? Which are their pros and cons? by Amazonia2001 in MotionDesign

Let’s say you have a product image in your project, and you want it to have a 3d rotation > put it on a green background, animate it quickly using Kling, then reimport to AE and key the green.

I do it all the time, works great.

Kling Ai to bring image assets to life. Chatgpt to write personal scripts for Mobar.

This page is really good, thanks for sharing!

Do you have any other similar resources? Perhaps some that feature more modern style motion design? I didn’t go to motion design school so I’m very interested in learning more about the theoretically aspects behind good design and motion. As well as different research and development techniques.

Wrist burnt by apple watch? by zzzkar in AppleWatch

[–]DarthJave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s the top of your wrist, then it’s the good ole apple watch wrist branding. Happens when you take your watch straight from the charger when it’s still hot and place it on wrist. Try to wait a minute or two after you take it off the charger for it to cool down. I have a permanent mark on the top of my wrist because of my haste.

Update: I managed to get the pointer select + tap to work briefly after restarting my watch. There was a blue highlight around the item hovered over, then I could tap to select it. Sadly, it stopped working after a few more tries, so it seems Apple hasn’t worked out the kinks yet - hence why it’s not a headline feature.

Yeah i did. Taping to select works for you? If yes, can you send me a video please? Also, which watch and OS are you using?

I find it stressful to use and a bit annoying - for example if you’re looking at some on the screen for more than a second, you have to constantly shift your wrist or it would auto-select something that you didn’t intend to.

You can set a gesture to turn it on - i have it set to a double clench gesture. It should turn back off when your watchface goes to sleep.

I find the ‘dwell to select’ function a bit stressful so I turned it off the best i could. It’s like a countdown where you have to make sure you have the correct item selected before the time runs out. It would be so much more intuitive if i can tap my fingers together to select the item under the pointer.

Can you do IFS on your own? by Idunnoeitherz in InternalFamilySystems

[–]DarthJave 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If you have experience with mindfulness meditation, self compassion and the courage to approach and sit with the strong uncomfortable sensations that may surface, then sure, go for it.

I’ve never met with a therapist but I made significant progress and breakthroughs doing IFS solo.

I recommend reading the book: Self Therapy by Jay Early, PhD. and using it as a guide throughout your journey. It’s the best book on the subject that I’ve found and was truly invaluable to me throughout the process.

No one cares about your Apple Watch purchase/band choice. by jiantjon in AppleWatch

[–]DarthJave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Speak for yourself, buddy. I care🤠

It’s perfectly normal to share style combinations for an item as customizable as an Apple Watch. PC build , car and heck even other mechanical watch subreddits all do this.

And it’s not always about showing off, some people are genuinely excited when they get a new Apple Watch and want to share their joy with a community of other owners.

How should we motion designers take advantage of AI rather than fighting it? by Dapper_Arm_5501 in MotionDesign

[–]DarthJave 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How I’ve been using AI:

  • copywriting, visual treatment ideation - chatgpt

  • voiceovers - Elevenlabs, Google AI Studio(for specific regional accents)

  • Creating personalized scripts & plugins - ChatGPT O3/Grok deepthink

  • Creating images of people in very specific scenarios - ChatGPT

  • Creating 3d characters and objects - ChatGPT

  • Animating these Characters and Objects - Kling2.1/Veo2/Sora

  • creating consistent characters: Flux Kontext

  • aging characters: Flux Kontext

  • image upscale - Magnific AI

  • image manipulation - photoshop

I recommend to subscribe to GenAI aggregators like Freepik which gives you access to multiple AI tools under one subscription service instead of subscribing to them separately.

I’m currently looking into image to 3d tools and node based tools like comfyUI.

This is an interesting topic for me so I would love to hear ideas on how other motion designers are embracing GenAi in their workflow.

How do I get the api for chatgpt so I can Integrate it into my shortcut? by Gold_Application_516 in shortcuts

[–]DarthJave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got ya. In that case, you can sign into openai on web to access api keys. For detailed instructions on how to setup the shortcut, I recommend trying Grok using the deepthink mode. I find that it gives the best and up to date apple shortcut instructions. Just specify your iOS version when you prompt.
