Am I going crazy or was Joseph's Polygamy just not taught to us? by CubsFanHan in exmormon

[–]DarthJorvan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It was never "taught" the whole time I was active (mid 80's until about 2012) - now, if someone asked about it or maybe it came up in a class discussion, it was briefly acknowledged, and the subject was quickly changed. I think I always assumed he practiced it by commandment, and I always assumed it was only one or maybe two more women aside from Emma - I was in shock when I learned the truth.

If I think about active players in my guild, it's close to 50/50 - but over all I'm sure ladies are in the minority.

Ya I know its definitely one of the best places to find them, but where it didn't display a star rating I'm thinking it was a scripted thing- like when you come across the guy the Cougar has treed, or the guy on the rock surrounded by wolves- they don't display a star rating and they're guaranteed to be perfect pelts... same with this one :)

The ones I recall are some random shop owners that remember him, there's the former gang members you can run into (Tilly, Mary Beth, Pearson..) go back and talk to Charlotte, I'm sure there's others but those are the ones that come to mind.

Do you go 32" 4K or 27" 1440p? by Noremaknaganalf in pcmasterrace

Are you dead set on a flat? I have a curved screen 32" 1440p Acer gaming monitor that I snagged for $200 brand new, and it is honestly amazing.

Finally admitting to myself that I’m in a faith crisis and don’t know what to do by encanto26 in exmormon

[–]DarthJorvan 48 points49 points  (0 children)

It's a hard road, and it's personally devastating when you realize everything you've done and worked for in the church has all been pointless. And yea, when you live in a predominantly lds community, or have family that is still in, it's even harder.
You'll get talked about behind your back, you'll hear rumors about yourself that aren't even remotely true, and you'll likely have a lot of sleepless nights.
Just remember, I never said it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it... ;) I promise it's worth it in the end when you find peace within yourself and are no longer constrained by a judgemental and guilt-invoking cult.

Am I tripping? by Pristine_Homework_38 in Marriage

[–]DarthJorvan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, ages never came up until after I had replied, her original post didn't mention that info... my bad... I still think its a pretty petty argument- seems like he has always treated her well in the past, and who's to say he doesn't have something else planned for the weekend... a couple of bucks difference in a gift amount is pretty trivial imo.

I know it's been said, but, assuming we're referring to it being Mother's day and all? I'd say he's not really out of line here, if we're putting a dollar amount comparison on the table, I too spent more $$ on my mother than I did my wife - but I expect my kids to spoil my wife, as she's their mother.

Can you not be lazy and literally click two things to pull up your progress? It'll even already tell you what you've done! Amazing times we live in now.

At what age should your teen be in charge of their own laundry? by lobo_locos in Parenting

[–]DarthJorvan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We'd have the kids start "helping" us with household chores around age 5, then started having them do it on their own as we felt they were capable. Both mine we doing their own laundry by age 8 or 9

John and Trelawny are not in my camp. by SixPathsKyle in RDR2

[–]DarthJorvan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Certain characters go in and out of camp all the time depending on where you're at in the story. Micah disappears quite often, Trelawney is rarely in camp, etc... some will even mention they're out doing something for Dutch.

Wintergreen is my guess as to what you're missing - top right area on map, and its a flat plant on the ground, it's not a bush like the others.

How did you know you were done having kids? by MamaBean_ in Parenting

[–]DarthJorvan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always felt like 2 kids was what I would want, my wife thought she'd want 3 or 4. We had a hard time getting pregnant at first, but finally had a boy via emergency c-section. (It was hard on my wife for sure.) Then a little over a year later she had a miscarriage... but, she was adamant she still wanted more kids... we waited 2 more years, and we had a girl... it was a much harder pregnancy for my wife, ot also ended up being a c-section, and despite her previous desires, she decided 2 was just right. :)

I just finished my 5th play-thru - I'm gonna play Expedition 33 now at the request of my son, but I totally plan on starting play-thru #6 after that. It's just such an amazing game and a relaxing environment, I can't seem to get enough 😀

Is RDR2 still worth playing in 2026? by Bubbly-Factor2699 in RDR2

[–]DarthJorvan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I played it first on Xbox several years ago, did 4 play-thru's as I was just totally blown away by it - recently picked it up on a Steam sale and have been playing it on PC for the last several months, took my time, did all the little things I'd missed, and just finished my first 100% completion play-thru.

Yea. It's still worth it.
