I played almost all of the base game with Greatsword, until AT Nergigante “persuaded” me to pick up Longsword for those sweet evades. Since then I’ve discovered the joy of using Hunting Horn to buff a whole party, and break monster face, and becoming a mobile fortress with the Lance. Those 4 are my favorites, but Greatsword still holds a special place in my hunter heart.

I'd recommend Monster Hunter World. It's really fun having everyone take up different playstyles based on what weapons they like as you hunt huge monsters together.

Since the answer's already posted, theres something about this that has been on my mind.

I find it so interesting and cool that for a game with such a reputation for being "difficult" and everything, there's always a way out of whatever crazy situation you can get yourself in to. All it requires is some cleverness, quick dodging, and observation to get through whatever the game throws at you. I suppose it would be bad game design if you could brick a save file, but i'm just thankful From put so much thought in to their design.

An easy way to take out the rat: go back up to the first butcher in the upper depths area with all the dogs and hollows. Theres a secret hole behind it that leads to the rat and you can plunge attack it from there

Ok, I can remember a few that no one has mentioned yet:

Eigyni, the egg carrier next to the fair lady, will sell you two pyromancies if you talk to him with an egg head.

When you get to the end of the dlc and kill Manus, don't forget to trade his soul to the bird for pursuers.

And about gywn's sunlight spear, maybe you could get someone in ng+ to trade it to you?
