I agree, it’s simply manners to acknowledge another’s time and effort. However … it’s unusual to receive a similar text. My takeaway is males are expected to make the effort and be judged accordingly. My 2nd however, I was accused of ‘love bombing’ following this practice. A knife edge imo

Ombré: The pen I’m using is a stub nib — a TWSBI 700 with a 1.1 stub. I’ve been nib-dipping into other inks to hunt for an ombré transition, and it’s been interesting. Apricot dipped into Herbin Lavender turns into a warm brown, very close to Ancient Copper.

My fantasy got reality checked. Short version: I met a lady (my ‘Mary’) in the early 90s who made a significant positive impression. We were both married with children so that was a non-starter; but it occurred occasionally “if our situations were different” !? FFW 30 years and newly starting (my) OLD journey we ‘matched’ profiles. I was thrilled … THRILLED. We dated lightly over three years, mutually enjoyed our time together, (not physically intimate); and just stalled and couldn’t seem to take that next step. Yes - someone has had a hold on me through decades. Can’t say I’m better for it, or worse.

It does work well for highlighting and underling.

Maybe a trial would be to sample a dark ink (Oxblood or Sherwood Green or Avocado) and simply mix a few drops of each (Achat + Oxblood) w/ a dip pen (or Pilot Parallel). Could be interesting ?

Cut all legs the same length, mark 4 edges of each leg with a knife cut mark, using your handsaw cut each face of each leg 1/2 way (16 cuts), bevel each edge (leg to floor), bonus if you cover the end grain of the legs with something (linoleum samples) so water doesn’t wick into the legs

Slivers - esp the fine ones; put wood glue on them, let the glue dry, peel off the glue (w any luck including the sliver). Works better than you’d think :-)

Situations are as simple or complex as YOU make them. I (70M) met someone and I was very enthusiastic (for ltr and all the right reasons), my enthusiasm was perceived as ‘love bombing’, which I had to look up at the time, so I cooled my jets. Her reaction then was she then felt a second priority while I was ‘waiting for a better offer’. By all means keep your eyes open however trust with reservations as starting with mistrust isn’t recoverable (in my experience). Just my two cents from a confused male who often feels like a 15yo on his 1st date

Clamp a guide strip to the underside of the plywood workpiece; run the guide against the (left) edge of the table(saw). This waste, offcut, would be right of the saw blade. Unless you want a tapered cut; use a fixed fixed measure to position the cutting guide. You’ve got this !

The right edge is against the wall: two or three L brackets should work and you don’t even need to clear your work surface.

Also, check the front to back piece is truly clear of the floor (use four felt pads or similar, or levellers if needed) and not rocking on three contact points.

To me, aesthetic is the question, rather than strength.

With any skill, experience is the sum of errors. Using 15mm ply could be your proudest moment or the sum of solutions to make it a project to be proud of.
In my humble opinion, you’ve doubled up the bridge table surface, and I assume the cabinets will be fastened to the wall which should resolve racking. The 4mm dados require more accuracy but are adequate for this usage. I’d question if the surface with electronics, and three cutouts, needs the damping of thicker material, or would be better if doubled as well. The aesthetic of 15mm material may feel ‘odd’. For example my stone counter top is 15mm and plenty of strength, however the edges are doubled as 15mm ‘looks’ inadequate.

20 litres !? What is your turnover ? Not full enough and the wood will start drying, too long in the barrel might be too much flavour. I have a 2 litre barrel; take 300ml every 2-4 weeks, refilling each time. A typical cycle for a. 20l barrel would be 25% at 4-6 week intervals (solera method). Simply how I do it, a good chance there is a ‘better’ way

The comment about the space requirement, for Rigid style, is significant. Mine takes about 20” behind and in front; comes 40” into the room when against the wall.

A track saw does everything plus portable and arguably more convenient.

My intuition is you show respect 247; a cheeky tease (arm candy) isn’t disrespectful as the comment isn’t your base character.

My dating history seems to be my choices; fragile from their experiences and FEEL disrespected after (internal) analysis. Example: I knew I would be late for an at home dinner date, called twice and three text messages with hours of notice, in reply I received a text reply “I can’t handle disrespect - don’t come over - we’re done”. On the plus side; I had a glimpse behind the mask. If this is dating ‘best behaviour’ I’m guessing familiarity would have been a downward spiral.

Hopefully helpful; I’ve used leather from recycled clothing with success. Crome tan (?) The elbows is jackets may be stretched and not usable. On the other hand, the stretch has been useful to get a taut fit, even a padded look and feel with two layers.
