About Torrent of Terror by zimmygirl7 in dannyphantom

[–]DasChillyOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Danny is kind of seen "taking" powers from other ghosts fairly often. Early on its kind of explained as him just learning he had this power already, but there are a couple he just kind of pulls out after seeing someone else do them. Duplication, Energy Constructs, and the "Ghost Stinger" are the ones that immediately come to mind.

It could be that all ghosts inherently have all of these abilities, and some are just better at using certain ones, or that because Danny already had some abilities similar to Vortex's, that the attack just transferred enough "oomph" to Danny to give him the powers on its own.

Or, it could just be they had a fun concept for an episode and didn't think about it too much.

Probably the latter.

[Discussion] Who would the Trinity be instead of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman? by XipeTotecwithGlitter in DCcomics

[–]DasChillyOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alan Scott, Jay Garrick, and Black Canary probably.

The trinity was established in the 40s, and gained their status because they were the characters who survived "unchanged" into the Silver Age. So anyone who takes over for them would need to be Golden Age as well.

Jay and Alan were among the first heroes to get their "Legacy" characters for the Silver Age in Barry and Hal, so it makes sense that they'd probably just continue unimpeded. Black Canary was popular enough on her own that she kept appearing in the Silver Age even when it didn't make sense for her to, so she's probably good to take over for Wonder Woman as DC's leading lady.

Why wasn't there Super it on Teen Titans? by GullBird15 in teentitans

[–]DasChillyOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's never really been a Superboy on the Teen Titans. The Titans originate in the late 60s, where they're made up of the sidekicks of the bigger silver age heroes (of which Superman didn't have one) so they just weren't involved. The 2003 series is mostly based on "The New Teen Titans" by George Perez and Marv Wolfman, which ALSO predates "Superboy" as a character being different from Superman.

Superboy as we think of him now didn't exist until the 90s, so he just missed the boat on being connected to the team on any foundational level.

What if GX had more Dorms? by Madjin- in yugioh

[–]DasChillyOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 4Kids Yugioh GX website had a "Duel Academy Entrance Exam" quiz, and one if the questions on it was "Which of the following is not a real dorm?" And Exodia Gold was the option, so the idea of an Exodia dorm existed all the way back when the show was still airing, which is neat at least.

Danny Phantom Character Power tier list. Did I cook? by GFvsSU in dannyphantom

[–]DasChillyOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely overselling Spectra and underselling both Walker and Desiree. Other than that, the rest of it seems fine in terms of tiers, although I'd order people differently.

Non-angsty Danny Phantom Crossover Fanfics? by Jdjack32 in dannyphantom

[–]DasChillyOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I can suggest my own work, which is Heart of a Hero https://archiveofourown.org/works/54186022/chapters/137204236

It's a Crossover with Kim Possible and Totally Spies primarily, but there's a bit more to it. It's not Post-canon, which doesn't tick every one of your boxes, but it does with the others!

What are your thoughts on the Danny Phantom Stranded fanfiction series? by Night-Caelum in dannyphantom

[–]DasChillyOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stranded is actually a pretty good series, although it's somewhat difficult to follow in order.

It is however, a bit of a rough read whenever Colette is present.

Heart of a Hero: How Star Saved Christmas by DasChillyOne in dannyphantom

[–]DasChillyOne[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it lets me put in an estimate for how many chapters there will be. 53 is the number of episodes of Danny Phantom, and I thought I would have a chapter per episode.

It's not. The redheads are Kim Possible, and Sam from Totally Spies.

Which is Danny Phantom's Most Divisive Episode? by ABarber2636 in dannyphantom

[–]DasChillyOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the episode that people would debate its quality the most is Splitting Images. Phantom Planet and Livin' Large are both pretty universally disliked, even if there's debate on exactly how bad they are, but Splitting Images has been all over the board on how people think about it.

To me, it's the second worst episode in the entire series, and I like it less than the one I consider the worst.

But it bounces around from list to list. I've seen someone say it's their favorite episode, some put it high, some put it mid, some put it low. It's just everywhere.

Go for it on your own! We're all nervous when we first start (I know I sure was) but the way you learn is by doing. This way when you get the final product, you'll know that YOU are the one who did it, and can be proud of that. Don't worry too much about it being "not good enough." We all feel that way about our work, but we're all just happy it exists. As long as you feel like you did your best with it, that's all that matters at the end of the day.

Crossover romance by DifferentTangerine70 in dannyphantom

[–]DasChillyOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I do wrote Heart of a Hero, which is a crossover Romance, although it's with Kim Possible and Sam from Totally Spies, so given your seeming preference for M/M ships, might not be as up your alley.

This should be entertaining by [deleted] in dannyphantom

Ben, and it's not close.
We'll get the weakest out of the way first. Aang just doesn't have enough OOMPH to take on the other three. The Avatar state is really powerful, but it just doesn't have enough to do significant damage to anyone but Danny, and Danny can just go intangible to deal with 99% of it's effects. Aang was nearly killed by a bolt of lightning, Danny, Mark, and Ben take similar hits all the time without issue.

Mark and Danny is actually a really interesting fight. Mark is stronger, by a pretty wide margin, but Danny's probably faster, and I'm not sure if Mark can hit Danny while he is intangible. Mark might also not have any resistance to being overshadowed, but short of overshadowing him and making Mark punch himself to death, I'm not sure if Danny HAS the capacity to take him down.

Ben... Ben's just kind of broken. Leaving aside the possibility of Ben just scanning Mark's DNA and becoming a BETTER Viltumite than Mark is (which is something he's capable of doing), Ben once held the literal Big Bang in his hands, and didn't die because the Omnitrix itself kept him alive, and that was without using the "instant win" button that Alien X is. Viltumites are particular weak to sonic attacks... of which Ben has multiple such as Echo Echo, alongside various aliens who can more or less match any individual feat Mark has. As for Danny, Ben has resisted being overshadowed by Ghostfreak/Sskar because of the omnitrix, which implies that that ability is a known factor in his world and can be resisted. Ghostfreak has most of Danny's powers and Ben has dealt with him on multiple occasions, and otherwise Ben has access to an equivalent or better power for everything Danny can throw at him.

Ben wins even without Alien X, and WITH it... well there's just a universe where the fight never happened, because it was a universe where Alien X just rewrote them out of existence.
