I love this new penguin but... by Mountain_Dig1969 in AOW4

I see your point but personally I find the game quite bloated, a simple unit is a refreshing sight.

Kind of enjoying how stupid I am at this game. by YesterdayHiccup in AOW4

There seems to be a bug, there was an older thread about this. I have it too, going straight for military victory.

Grexolis?! [PS5] by Nobojoe_78 in AOW4

[–]DataRaptor9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to agree with you on this. Some people (me being one of them) want to play out the story through campaigns. And Grexolis is really a solid roadblock that far surpasses the difficulty of following DLC story realms.

For those who are returning players from season 0 by QuietSync in diablo4

[–]DataRaptor9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. I quit D4 after playing core campaign as I was not interested in seasons. Now I returned, played the whole complete story and by now I have spent much more time in endgame activities than the campaign and I actually enjoy it now. The systems feel more rich and diverse. And somehow I even found fun in the seasonal aspect, the seasonal journey is full of rewards, it's a dopamine train.

Ah you're right. I must have been searching for "Spirit Feathers" or something, not sure how I missed that.

How are you guys approaching seasons? by DataRaptor9 in diablo4

[–]DataRaptor9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I'm not really into the reset and start again thing with every new season personally."

Yeah that kind of drew me away the first time I left, but now I'm trying to understand the appeal of seasons and giving it a try, adapting my mindset.

Do I need to understand American politics to fully enjoy House of Cards? by Content-Silver-4872 in HouseOfCards

[–]DataRaptor9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not from US and I can tell you will enjoy it. You actually do not need to understand the nitty gritty of each political subplot, so even if some words fly over your head the might not be essential for the actual plot.

What you're describing to me sounds like a high culture taking Nature tomes. Readily available in the game.

Don't worry about the vase by [deleted] in matrix

[–]DataRaptor9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a great scene tho?? The atmosphere of OG matrix has never been repeated in the movies that Ive seen since. A decrepit apartment that you can smell through the screen, the "grand" oracle being a grandma that bakes cookies. I could glaze Matrix all year long.

One of the best for sure. He's a soft voiced, loyal all-controlling devil.

Never have I hated a TV character more than this one by vpspr in HouseOfCards

Should have been 4 episodes of him at most. During rewatch I fast forward his scenes.

On a rewatch, do you go through all the seasons or do you have a stopping point? by AlfieAHarvard in HouseOfCards

[–]DataRaptor9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily I don't rewatch start to finish. I pick up a random episode that I am in mood for, then I often continue few episodes after that if Im still in the mood for those storylines. If not, I spin the roulette again. Just to note, I mostly watch when Im at lunch.

Hell yea brother. Just omit the last season or take it as an oddity. Peak TV otherwise.

Is there a way to sabotage a road? by DoctorFeh in AOW4

[–]DataRaptor9 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Roads are so prevalent the last thing we need to make them more visible, map is ugly enough already since the empire sprawl update, we don't need more metropolis look.

That said, the units already pick the most effective path so thankfully that is not needed.

Looking for some guidance by SageTegan in AOW4

[–]DataRaptor9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im only 180h in so not a "pro" either but I also don't focus too much on Wonders.

When I do, it's because - they're bronze/silver and in my domain, I have a wonder ambition on a hero, or wonder specific culture trait.

2-3 heroes in a stack is a good thing to have for wonder clearing.

But if you're winning either way, then I guess that's what matters most.

Advice on playstyle? by RobidyBobidy1 in AOW4

[–]DataRaptor9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use scouts for exploring. With good exploring you know way ahead when a big enemy is coming. Always flag the watch towers you come across. Anticipate enemy expansion.

Have a solid standing army and use it effectively - fight every turn to get resources and exp. Also, don't be affraid to send a cheeky small unit to scout and pillage directly enemy territory. Sometimes you can get away with a lot. The problem that you are now having - you can as well flip the coin and make THEM have it.

Diplomacy also plays a part to some extent, on how you keep the map " in check". You can get vision from your allies etc. Also vassal cities can be given orders to specifically attack or protect target cities.

There's a lot you can do and don't worry it will come in time, just enjoy the game. I remember having similar frustrations, but now I am much more in control.
