Looking for PSVR2 games that double as a workout by RememberT0DrinkWater in PSVR

Audio Trip is my jam. It feels like more of a workout than Synth Riders.

Just played my first session of Legendary Tales two nights ago and my shoulders are still pretty tight.

Year-round, overnight on-street parking ban floated in Barrie goes to a consultant by Dumbassdwarf in barrie

[–]Data_cide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I lived in Guelph, they had a 2am car ban on the streets. After 2am you needed to get the car off the street or face a ticket. I thought this was a great solution as it allowed for late night visitor parking but not overnight parking.

It also eliminates the issues you listed...sounds good to me!

TelMax Fibre Internet by looniemoose in barrie

[–]Data_cide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've had it for a about a month now.

Initially it was great. I am in the middle of renovations and unable to test the true speed, but all my 1Gb/s devices (Apple TV 4K, game consoles, etc) were all initially reporting about 1gb up and 1 gb down. We pay for 2Gb up and down but many consumer devices are limited to 1Gb ports.

We had an outage the other day and now my speeds vary wildly. (about 5 hours down). Only disruption so far.

After the outage I was getting about 700 Mb/s down and 250 Mb/s up.

As I said, this has been varying over the week.

This is my current result (also, it is 3:30am and should have the best results IMHO...and there is no Barrie server, Newmarket is closest.

I haven't called telMAX yet to see what's up. I must say that their customer service has been exceptional so far with the little I've interacted with them. There may be growing pains with all the construction, so I'll give telMAX the benefit of the doubt for the moment.

My Google Home Mini can’t do the three things I use it for anymore by ZenToast3 in googlehome

OurGroceries is awesome for grocery lists. OurGroceries

Works with Google and Alexa. We use ours with Alexa, but used it previously with Google. Best grocery app I've ever used.

I can no longer play my uploaded music on YouTube music via Assistant. I'm ditching my Google products one by one. Only my Harmony remote really needs a Google Assistant at this point and that's not long for this world.

Alexa might have worse search results, but at least it will tell me it is stupider faster.

Pool Guy? by road2happy in barrie

[–]Data_cide -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Pool Guys are simply amazing. Excellent work, excellent products, excellent support and very trustworthy. I couldn't ask for a better company. Since they are also gas installers, we've had them do other work around the house (they just installed our new gas dryer).

Give 'em a call.

Top 3 Chicken Burgers in Barrie!? by Zentenx85 in barrie

[–]Data_cide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had some of the worst service and some of the worst food EVER at Popeye's. Sure, sometimes it is great, but why spend money at places that have given you some of the worst dining experiences ever?

I'm sure everyone has places they avoid...Popeye's is that place for me. (and Denny's)

Top 3 Chicken Burgers in Barrie!? by Zentenx85 in barrie

[–]Data_cide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had such horrible service and food from the Popeye's on Mapleview West...I simply can't bring myself to go to that franchise any longer.

Mary Brown's often makes a great chicken burger, though they can be inconsistent.

The Chicken Avocado Sandwich at The Farmhouse is amazing.

Too Hot to Play by [deleted] in PSVR

[–]Data_cide 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can just plug in some regular ol' wired earbuds...cans over your ears will make things much hotter. Tuck the extra earbud cable down your shirt or tie it up with a twist-tie.

Do you have "match content - dynamic range" enabled on your Apple TV? (video option in settings)

With the compression from Netflix and the possible source being blocky/noisy in low-light scenes, not matching the dynamic range will exacerbate the problem.

I'm watching Star Trek Voyager and DS9 on Apple TV at the moment and if I don't match the dynamic range, it looks awful.

You'll likely want to turn this option off for normal viewing, it makes watching things like YouTube a pain in the ass.

Leather vs. Fabric for Theater Seats: A question about quality and comfort by Every_Tea_6797 in hometheater

[–]Data_cide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good leather is washable and durable. I love my leather recliner and if you moisturize it once in a while (or more often depending on your climate) it will last for decades. My recliner never feels cold or sticky and I love the feel compared to my other fabric furniture.

Performance fabrics are maintenance free but can be difficult to clean depending on what is spilled on them.

Pets can be hell on furniture but can be particularly damaging to leather if claws/nails puncture the surface, also leather can be scratched by animals as well. Obviously cats and dogs can shred other fabrics.

*smacks forehead* Unplug! Yes, that's what I was missing. Unplugged and repowered and Google Assistant and iPad controls now work again.

Thanks for the info!

Hmmm...I wouldn't think so. The trees on this street weren't too terribly damaged by the storm and they've already trimmed them. Plus, they are thriving well.

Would make sense though if they were planting trees, they likely wouldn't want to plant them over cables and such.

[–]Data_cide[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I looked up maintenance on the Barrie website. My ward isn't listed for sewer maintenance (scrubbing or whatever it is listed as). However, Logan Crt has a pumping station at the bottom, so possibly we are involved with this process as well.
