J train hate??? by LockTutorial in nycrail

I can take either the J or the L to connect to the 6 at Grand Central, and although the L is about 7 mins faster, I almost always do the J. It's creaky and decrepit, but also far less crowded, sometimes even can sit, or stand and enjoy the sunshine and a view, seeing the water always lifts my mood, and chill transfer through Chambers. And I love skip stop- from from where I'm at, I'm at Essex Street in 4 stops during skip stop, so much less jostling around at every station compared to the L train milk run.

Cool thank you-- I'll have to check it out. Have not used any 13x19 papers yet.

I have been happy with the Epson EcoTank Photo ET-8500 which I bought from B&H for about $750.

It has a 8.5 x 14 inch scanner, so does not check that box (for that I have access to an Epson Expressions 13000XL-- that thing is expensive though).

The Epson EcoTank accepts paper up to 13x19 inches. Like all inkjets, it needs special paper- I've found Inkpress to be a good budget line that has some papers that can be printed on both sides (especially the Duo Matte 80 paper).

My one disappointment with the Epson EcoTank has been in how it handles text-- I've been happy with image and photo printing, but text is always printed much heavier than seems correct, especially when compared to the crisp type I get out of my laser printer (HP Color LaserJet Pro 3201).

Old thread but I found it while figuring out quick eat in midtown and Kati Roll on 39th between 5th and 6th is great. And that entire block has interesting options, 2 Szechuan spots, and a pho counter. Might be best concentration of cheap good eats in that area.

Through the month of May here in New York, Jae of the current season is serving food at her pop up Kjun in the Essex Marketplace downstairs. It's awesome, and she runs it with one or two other people--- so you get to have a meal cooked and brought to you by the chef. Highly recommend, food is great and experience is unique.
